Hahaha, even the conservative GR Press says she's starting here where she will be favorably received.(We live in the land of wingnuts.)

Sarah Palin will begin 'Going Rogue' book tour in Grand Rapids

Edited to add: Wake me up when Tina Fey comes to town. I miss Tina's Caribou Barbie routines...Tina is awesome!

1. Grand Rapids ????
To quote a great old Saturday Night Live line, "My question is ... How can you stand it?"

It's bad enough living in SE Michigan (Oakland County) where only half the population is insane. It must be what, like 85% Cheney/Beck/Palin worshipers in Grand Rapids?

You have my sympathy.

2. Yes, it's pretty bad

During the Chimp 'n Cheney nightmare years I actually had a woman come up to my car and tell me how brave I was to have an anti-Bush sticker on the bumper.
There are more progressives here than there used to be, so I have hope - sometimes. The Christian Reformed Mafia is firmly entrenched in this land of conservatives, and the bulk of the population actually thinks that liberalism is abnormal behavior. I live to be a thorn in their sides. My daughter and I once followed a Hummer with the perfunctory flag and Dickie DeVos stickers for three miles. It was winter and we both had our windows down giving them the fingers ... peace signs. This is a logical place, indeed, for Palin to hawk her Caribou Speaks book - conservatives love a good bargain book!

5. Obama did win Kent County
First Dem to do so since LBJ.

But most of the rural areas around here, well, you know.

3. Well, the Borg Queen has arrived in your city on her Hive ship!
And, the Borg Drones have lined up to worship her in vast numbers, according to the media.

I must admit, I'd give anything to watch them attach her head to the body!

Use utmost care, though, or they will try to assimiliate you.

Luckily for us, Resistance is NOT Futile!

4. I heard they built a platform for her to speak with her admirers
I don't think anyone ever did that for Paris or Brittany, but then the false idol, er, I mean, Sarah thrives on the adoration - anything less then you aren't a real American.
