"...keep Detroit's water under public control!"
http://action.foodandwaterwatch.org/p/dia/action/public/?action_KEY=5460

"The Detroit Water and Sewerage Department (DWSD) services 126 communities and roughly four million people. The system lacks transparency and is suffering fiscally. Now incoming freshman representative Kurt Heise (R, Plymouth) has made revamping DWSD one of his first orders of business, and his plans include hiring a private company to operate DWSD as a regional public utility. Contact your state representative TODAY and demand that your water is kept in public hands."

1. Privatizing the water...bad idea.
I hope everyone in the area screams bloody murder over this!

2. The suburbs have been trying to get their hands on DWSD for decades
His bill is bullsh*t. This is a power grab to destroy the city while benefiting their friends. I just bet Representative Heise just so happens to have "friend" who contributed to his campaign who is qualified to run the DWSD :eyes:

3. No need to privatize
I bet his "friend" had no idea that Heise was going to use this issue to get elected. At the time his "friend" donated the money, this issue wasn't even a topic of his campaign. In fact, Heise actually was trying to be the next Director of DWSD himself.

There's no reason to privatize the system, unless someone is interested in getting more campaign contributions.

4. Wasn't an issue when he was elected?
I'm only 33 years old and it's been an issue as long as i can remember.
