MI Consumers & Businesses To Tell Congressman Upton: Affordable Care Act Essential to Michigan’s Economic Turnaround
Leaders from across Michigan, along with Michigan consumers and business owners, will come together to call on Congressman Upton to stop the charge to repeal the Affordable Care Act and, instead, protect Michigan’s struggling workers and business owners in a tumultuous economy. A vote is expected Wednesday.
Among days of calling and writing to Congressman Upton and other members of Congress which have made repealing the Affordable Care Act a priority for 2011, events will take place in Lansing and Kalamazoo to highlight the benefits to Michigan’s businesses and consumers.
Repealing the act would not only leave nearly 6 million residents of Michigan with private insurance vulnerable to lifetime limits, but it would make businesses take a step back from hiring new employees and offering better benefits.
