The state senate is going to discuss the health plan proposals at 11:00AM. There's a "compromise" bill that would institute a Massachusetts-style system here, and John Marty is proposing an amendment that would remove the corporation-coddling aspects and require a cost study of a single payer program.

If your state senator is a supporter of single-payer, call him/her and express your thanks, and even if your state senator is a big fan of insurance companies, either way, urger him/her to support John Marty's amendment to ensure a fair assessment of the costs and benefits of various approaches.

The website

http://www.mnhealthplan.org

has the details, including a list of the sponsors of the original single-payer proposal.
