"Bachmann has been in the news and most of its has been positive".... Bwahahahahah!!!

As for the congresswoman’s highly publicized interaction with President Bush at a State of the Union Address, Aplikowski indicated Republicans shrugged that off. “As far as my point of view when I was sitting there watching it, to myself I said, ‘Take your hand off the president,’ kind of joking around,” said Aplikowski.

“It was about as big of an issue as someone breaking a shoelace,” Aplikowski said of the incident.

Unlike many congressional freshmen, Bachmann has been in the news and most of its has been positive, he opined.

Just a sample of the "positive" news:

1. Why, here's another piece of positive news right here for Michele
http://www.wctrib.com/articles/index.cfm?id=35523

Apparently the Washington afterglow is still too blinding for Michele Bachmann to find meaningful issues to address.

Maybe it’s the light bulbs of Washington that are distracting her?

Bachman, who represents the 6th District, including Paynesville, has determined her calling is to slow down the elimination of the conventional incandescent light bulbs ...

... Bachmann’s bill has been referred to committee — where we hope it will suffer a painless death. And we hope Bachmann will now focus on more important issues.

3. More "positive" news for Bachmann
http://www.thedailygreen.com/environmental-news/blogs/republican/incandescent-bulb-ban-55040601

On the shoulders of the Free Soil Party, the Republican Party emerged in the mid 19th century as a champion of human liberty.

The anti-slavery Free Soilers trumpeted their cause with a stirring cry: "Free Soil. Free Labor. Free Speech. Free Men."

Somehow, "Light Bulb Freedom of Choice" doesn’t carry as inspiring a punch.

5. City Pages: Rep. Michele Bachmann solves the energy crisis while watching The Beverly Hillbillies

Rep. Michele Bachmann solves the energy crisis while watching The Beverly Hillbillies
Virginia is the new Saudi Arabia

Come and listen to a story about a woman named Michele...Let's face it: Harping on Rep. Michele Bachmann just ain't what it used to be. At this point, taking swipes at her fairy-tale worldview is like shooting fish in a barrel. No, wait. It's more like shooting the barrel itself, provided it's filled to the brim with steaming bullshit.

So it is with fatigued reserve that we pass along a laughable speech that the Sixth District representative delivered to the Anoka County Business Leadership Forum last week: "If we extract 20 percent we know is off the coast of Virginia, we can replace what we import from Saudi Arabia," she said. "We have got almost unlimited availability of energy in the United States but we have restricted our ability to use it."

Sigh. It's impossible to know the exact figures, but according to the Interior Department, about 56 million barrels of oil are waiting to be tapped off Virginia's coast. Twenty percent of 56 million—let's see, carry the one—is just over 11 million barrels. Total. By contrast, we import roughly 500 million barrels of oil a year from the Saudis, according to those hippies at the Energy Information Administration, the U.S. government's own site that keeps track of such matters.

Note to Bachmann: 500 million > 11 million. —Matt Snyders
