Hillary and September/October Mother Jones article
(I posted this in general discussion but received no responses.)
I will vote for Hillary if she is the Democratic candidate of choice, but after reading this article in Mother Jones, and assuming the article is true, I would never vote for her otherwise.
I have no issue with spirituality; I do have an issue with government funded religious initiatives and secretive religious gatherings. This idea that the 'flesh' is less important than the 'spirit' is a simple justification for ignoring social problems and pain. It is lazy and it is greedy. Ignoring the plight of your fellow man is both shallow and unfeeling.
I get the sense that we are heading towards a theocracy and we arent even aware. If that is the case myself and my family will definately be on the outside looking in.
Anybody know the chances of Canada annexing Minnesota?
1. This info about Clinton and this group has been floating around DU for a while
and I find it creepy. I agree completely with your take on it - especially about religion being used as justification for ignoring social problems. An attitude that doesn't seem to quite jive with what Jesus taught, yet an attitude so often espoused by those calling themselves "Christians".
I doubt if we can get Canada to take Minnesota even if they could pick it up cheap as a "great little fixer-upper".
