Al Franken - Playboy article hubbub
I heard about this one on the local progressive radio station and looked it up on Huffington Post

GOP Targets Al Franken's Porn-o-rama article (from ABC News online)

"Al Franken is a funny man, but Minnesota voters might not see the humor in a column that the former Saturday Night Live star -- and current candidate for the United States Senate -- wrote in Playboy magazine in 2000.

On Thursday, the Minnesota Republican Party released a letter, signed by six prominent GOP women, including a state senator and state representative, calling on Franken to apologize for his "demeaning and degrading" article."

Boy, the Republicans in this state must be getting scared. This is a poor choice for attacking Al - someone who has been happily married for his whole adult life to the same woman!!!!!!

1. GOP hypocrites!
The stories about Coleman, whose lingerie model wife lives in California, are legendary.
When will we start seeing press releases from these women?

3. Lots of stories online about the the GOP letter ...
... no links to Franken's actual article.

Has anybody read it?

4. "a poor choice for attacking Al "
True.

Nobody died because of his article.

Over one million died because of Bush's war which Coleman heartily endorsed. That should be the issue in this campaign.

6. Betty McCollum's comments in today's Strib were not helpful.
I know she was a Cirese supporter, but geez, he is out of the race - get over it Betty.

She should have refused to make any comment on the article and jumped right into asking how a some blue humor in a magazine that has printed interviews with the likes of Billy Graham compares to supporting an illegal war.

13. Sounds like our Normie
You'd think someone would have taken some pictures. Maybe if they keep pulling this "holier than thou" crap someone will come forward about Normie's extracuricular activities.

10. Al did a pretty good job on "At Issue"
He blew right past Tom Hauser's question and dealt with real issues. Even Hauser admitted that the Coleman campaign gave a "no comment" when asked about it. Al turned every question into a Norm smackdown.
