Take 5 minutes and call your representatives.
Coleman 651-645-0323
Klobuchar 612-727-5220

Tell them not to support the bailout. Colemans underling sounded disinterested, but Klobuchar and Mccollum's were happy to hear from me.

1. If you call Norm Coleman, please mention a poll...
...by Rasmussen shows Americans are against the bailout by by 44% to 25%.

Coleman hopefully cares about public opinion when he's this close to an election.

2. hopefully amy won't cave on this one like she has in the past
she has been disappointing.

I expect nothing from Coleman. He's on his way out.

3. I certainly hope you are right.
But every morning I see ads from Coleman about 5:1. I hope Al is playing this right and keeping his powder dry.

4. Maybe Norm Coleman will vote against the bailout to distance himself from Bush...
...before the election.

It's worth contacting his office against the bailout.

5. I got a response email from Jim Ramstad that he doesn't...
...support the Bush plan.

It didn't say if he will support a plan with oversight which gives Bush $700 billion.

Personally, I don't want Bush to get $700 billion even with oversight.

6. I called Klobachur, Coleman and Kline offices ...
... with Coleman and Kline, I made sure to use phrases like "free market economy", "capitalism" and "responsibility" in expressing my opposition to the bailout the Bush proposes. There are enough questions from the right on this plan as it is, hopefully they marked me down as an old-school conservative and part of their base when tallying comments. To Klobachur's representative, I sang her praises for standing up and asking questions.

We're at the key moment for the country. Screw this one up, and we're just another bankrupt has-been by the time my three-year-old hits her 20s. And the way our country has treated others over much of the past 50 years - especially the past eight - we gonna get kicked a lot while we're down and in no position to help ourselves, let alone help others.
