Aha! KC/Independence school annexation is funded by a DEVELOPER!!

I have suspected this all along. The Independence School District can absorb all of the kids in western Independence into their existing buildings. So they can close every single one of the 7 schools they get from KC. And since a developer donated $25,000 to the campaign, what other conclusion can be drawn?

Do the people in western Independence want their schools to become part of the Independence School District so their kids can be bused across Independence to a different school? Do they want to lose their neighborhood schools and see them replaced with shopping malls or warehouses? Why else would a developer donate that much money??
