MT Senate: Tester (D) 50%, Burns (R) 43%
"Jon Tester leads Republican Senator Conrad Burns 50% to 43% making Burns the second most vulnerable Senator seeking re-election this year (Pennsylvania’s Rick Santorum is still the most vulnerable). This is the first Rasmussen Reports election poll in Montana since Tester won his primary victory to become the Democrat’s nominee."

"In our May poll, before the primary, Tester had a 4-point advantage over Burns, 48% to 44%. A month earlier, Burns was ahead of Tester 47% to 44%. That trend may be even more troubling for the incumbent than the seven-point deficit in the current poll."

"It is stunning for any long-term incumbent to be trailing in a re-election bid. It is even for a Republican to be trailing this badly in a state that President Bush carried by twenty points in Election 2004. But, even though most Americans think the Abramoff lobbying scandal was little more than business as usual, Burns close ties to the convicted lobbyists has clearly hurt Burns in Montana."

3. They are now tied
depending on which poll you read the difference between Corndog and Tester is within the margin of error. Burns continues a full scale TV assault on Jon, full of lies. Tester has avoided mudslinging.

In what I feel was setback for Tester Burns was heckled by the crowd at a recent debate in the republican stronghold of Hamilton. Even if Burns is an asshole it's not right to drown out his responses in a debate with name calling. It makes Tester supporters look like a bunch of inconsiderate, disrespectful folks to people who are on the fence on who to vote for.

4. VoteVets.org
Everyone should try to contribute to this group. Hopefully
they will have enough money to run the Ad in Montana. We
need this state so desperately. You should also suggest
Montana as the state where the ad should run. We really need
Jon Tester to win

6. Joe Camel supports Conrad Burns and Dennis Rehberg!
I sent the following Letter to the Editor to Montana
newspapers this past spring, and a few printed it:

Senator Conrad Burns and Congressman Dennis Rehberg would like
to thank your children for smoking, dipping, and chewing
tobacco.

According to the Tobacco-Free Kids Action Fund, Senator Burns
has accepted $62,000 in campaign contributions from the
tobacco industry since 1999, and Congressman Rehberg has
accepted $42,500 in the same period.

If being hand-picked cronies of Joe Camel is a moral value
shared by Burns and Rehberg, then I'd hate to see what immoral
values they share.
