How was Bob Kerrey as a senator?
I know that Nebraska is a pretty red state but I've read that Bob Kerrey was a pretty progressive senator, at least considering the state he represented. I know that Wellstone mentioned in his book that he joined him in voting no on Welfare reform. Anybody know how he felt about the Iraq War, abortion, etc?

2. I recall that he was quite a ladies' man!
He cut a wide swathe on that one leg--Debra Winger, Linda Rondstaht....!

He seems like a thoughtful, articulate, intelligent fellow to me.

Not sure of his specific positions on issues, perhaps google can help.

3. I still miss Bob
I remember he made alot of people mad for supporting some gay rights bill. He was not that far left of center but he was always getting himself in trouble for voting against the wishes of the folks back home. I'm convinced he had our best interests at heart though. He's probably fairly comparable to Joe Biden.

4. I remember he told a lesbian joke to a couple cameramen
and it was recorded. Can't remember a lot of the issues and how he stood. It seemed he was quite popular in Nebraska.

5. Oh Bob
Bob was young, vibrant and progressive.

In 1986 he stopped a train carrying nuclear waste from coming into Nebraska.

It a peaceful safe time, so nobody cared what he did in his bedroom.

Today he is older, vibrant, and still progressive.
