Christie disses NJ State Bar Association.
Article here: http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2011/03/gov_christie_announces_superio.html

From the article:

"Before he announced he would nominate Assemblyman Michael Patrick Carroll to be a Superior Court judge last week, Gov. Chris Christie took the usual step of asking the New Jersey State Bar Association to vet his candidate.

But in a break with tradition, Christie didn’t give the bar association enough time to do its work, and the group was unable to say whether it believes Carroll (R-Morris) is qualified for the bench.

"The (state bar) did not have sufficient time to do a full due diligence on Mr. Carroll and therefore did not give the governor a determination on his qualifications," said Charles Uliano, chairman of the group’s Judicial and Prosecutorial Appointments Committee. He declined to give more details.

Lawmakers say they can’t recall the last time the bar association has not researched a Superior Court nominee."

No reason was given for not allowing the Bar Association to finish its review. The arrogant don't need a reason to exercise their ego. It's what they do.

1. Christie Withdraws Judicial Nomination
Wack job Caroll's nomination has been withdrawn. It was that mean old Bar Association that just didn't want him and asked all kinds of bad questions.

This likely nixed whatever deal was in the works to get some other Christie cronie into Caroll's assembly seat.

2. Thanks for the update.
It's a twofer. 1) Christie looks hypocritical for submitting Caroll's name to the bar and then not waiting for them to complete their review. 2) He withdraws the nomination almost immediately, suggesting the Guvnor didn't do his own due diligence.
