LAS CRUCES, N.M. -- About 20 people gathered at Tony Gomez Park to engage in what they called a dialogue about the problems facing the majority of Americans. They were part of "Occupy Las Cruces."
Members said the purpose of the movement isn't to reach one specific goal, but rather, to get people talking.
Members sat in a circle and one by one expressed their concerns over issues including freedom of speech, poverty and law enforcement. The group is a break out from the "Occupy Wall Street" movement that started in New York City in September.
Members said that they want the U.S. to be back in the hands of the people instead of the government. They said they feel that politicians aren't protecting the interest of 99 percent of the population, many of whom are out of jobs and are struggling financially to stay a float ...
