Betty didn't catch billion dollar Hamilton County misspending
7/11/06

http://www.dispatch.com/news-story.php?story=dispatch/2006/07/11/20060711-A1-00.html

“Four audits of the Hamilton County Department of Job and Family Services failed to reveal problems that escalated into about $1 billion in possible misspending. Two reviews were part of standard state audits conducted by Auditor Betty D. Montgomery covering 2002 and 2003. Two others were performed by independent accountants at the request of the agency serving Hamilton County’s poor and jobless for the same two years.

The first hint of misspending came in late 2004 in a financial review conducted by Montgomery at the request of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, which administers the programs. It was the first such review conducted on Hamilton County since 1993.
***
Jon Allen, spokesman for the state Department of Job and Family Services, yesterday acknowledged that it was unusual to wait a decade to review a county Job and Family Services agency.
***
As a result, an election-year financial bailout may be necessary by the legislature as federal regulators are likely to seek the return of some money and impose potentially hefty sanctions on the state.

2. PERSONAL ATTESTATION
I served as a member of the Ohio Child Support Reform Accountability Task Force - which was a sham created by ODJFS when the ODJFS computers were stealing child-support from custodial parents - and I can tell you that all the counties are doing similar - just not Hamilton County.

Read last week that Columbiana County planned on using it's ODJFS money to remodel the Courtrooms - used for the criminals - as a judicial perk - don't the taxpayers perk these worthless black-gowned goons enough. And this judiciary just awarded "unsupervised" visitation to a REGISTERED SEX OFFENDER because she had the "authority to do so" even though the appellate court has previously ruled this to be contrary to the code - but this Court also is a "fiefdom".

And as for Marc Dann - I have shared very sensitive internal emails between ODJFS and the State and he is well aware of the "hanky panky" between the State and County agencies. I would guess the only reason the State wants the billion dollars is because the fed's want 2/3 of the BILLION back. I hope that Marc Dann is in a position to impact this agency - as I believe that he can and will do so. And I am sure that anyone that the R's assign to this agency will continue to deliver non-competitive bid contracts to the consultants and banks.

And as a federal tax payer - I'M MAD AS HELL AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE.
