Redfern and Strickland, Together
I think it will be interesting to see the dynamics of party and government operations down the line, even the next couple of months. Redfern is so fiery and passionate. Strickland is circumspect, and moving carefully (but not too carefully!) Any thoughts on this? I think it's going to be great.

1. Very interesting so far
I agree with you. Strickland seems very hands-on and involved right out of the gate. It already seems like there has been a major shift in the dynamics of the way state government -- at least on the executive level -- and the major cities work with each other. At least they are talking now, which is something that hardly if ever happened under Taft and Co. Perhaps we will finally see more recognition of the state being made up of specific regions, and of the interlocking social and economic dynamics between the cities, suburbs and rural areas within each of those regions, with both the Dems and the GOP having to come to some sort of consensus about how to revitalize them.

2. This is changing the subject slightly, but
I also found it remarkable how well Sherrod's campaign resonated with rural voters. Perhaps with these seemingly new appreciations and awarenesses, there will be much more communication between Washington and Columbus, too (it doesn't hurt that Sherrod and Strickland are close personal friends either). I think there is going to be some coming together, and R's may kick and scream all they like, but, ultimately, they will have to cooperate.
