Help me think this through
I am beyond disappointed in the Clinton campaign. I think they are pushing the Muslim whisper campaign. I have received 4 attack e-mails from Democrats/Clinton supporters. One is a volunteer county coordinator and President of the local women's group, one is a former chair and member of local executive committee, one is a sitting chair and one is a volunteer county chair and executive committee member.

I am totally appalled at the tactics her campaign is using. Beyond appalled. I'm very angry and emotional. Part of me is so disappointed in the Clintons and I can't believe they have stooped as low as they have lately. She has been vile - her mocking tone, her shame on you BS, her attack ads, the e-mails, etc. I've defended her for so long and why? She is turning out to be all the things people said she was.

So anyway - I still have these e-mails. Do I send them to ODP or to the Obama campaign or am I being petty? I responded to all when I got them. But I want people to know what is going on here. This isn't being pushed only by the right wing.

1. I got a piece Monday impuning that Obama got some sort of payback
Edited on Tue Mar-04-08 02:44 PM by poli speak
from energy companies (for supporting legislation or donations, I couldn't really tell what they were trying to imply). I thought it was from AFSME because they put out some other trash pieces, too, but when I looked at it again this morning, I saw it came direct from the HRC campaign itself. I was pissed.

4. Absolutely send them to the Obama campaign.
There's a place on their website where they ask you to do so.

And, I feel the same way you do, OhioBlue -- I had hoped we were above this kind of campaigning.

10. Every time I got one I sent it to the website
but this time I took everyone's advice - I sent them all to our local field rep for the Obama campaign with a description of each person that sent them to me.

7. And you know what?
What they don't see is how this can eventually divide us. Big time. Lee Atwater and Karl Rove could not script this better, and I would think that I wouldn't see these tactics displayed against a member of one's own party. Say what you will about your opponent; at the end of the day what should matter is the well being and success of that party as a whole, and the defeat in November of a regime that has totally corrupted and bankrupted us for the past eight years (longer, if you include the Reagan years). HRC is displaying yet again that this is all about her; all about her ambition. Do whatever it takes to win -- that's all that matters.

The religion issue particularly galls me. Not 50 years after JFK had to prove his qualifications for the office by defending the role of religion in his life, Barack Obama is being put in the same situation. Look how far we've come. :sarcasm: For that alone, right now I am ashamed of HRC, and by extension ashamed for the Democratic Party.

As a very wise man once said, "A house divided against itself cannot stand." And somehow, I think if it takes fracturing a party to get what she wants -- the White House -- she will be more than happy to do it. Just how sad -- and screwed up -- is that?

I'm rambling, I'm tired, I'm going to bed. As I posted on a thread in GD-P, sometimes I wonder why I care.

(OhioBlue, keep the e-mails. Share them with whoever will listen. Pass them along, as others have said, to national interests. Perhaps even to Keith Olbermann. I don't know.)

Oh, and to those HRC supporters who see this as nothing more than sour grapes: I hope your win tonight is worth it, because I have a feeling that it's going to be costly in more ways than one.

11. I did send them to the Obama campaign
if nothing else, they need this information to help prepare them for the next States. The Obama is a Muslim comments are everywhere. A poll worker told me he heard people in line say that. My boyfriend said when he was at the local tire changing shop they were talking about how Obama is a Muslim and won't say the Pledge. It is everywhere in my area.

12. Wise words, AOD. And just when I was beginning to
feel that Ohioans are stupid.

I'm originally from the NE part of the State and truly believe that race was the reason those voters went for Hillary. I could never repeat what an old friend of mine, who lives in Youngstown, said about Obama. And my uncle, who was superintendent of schools, still believes Obama is a Muslim.

Head, meet wall.

8. Didn't somebody trace those viral emails back to an email account at Fox News?
I believe that the earliest time stamps they found on the internet email headers had a Fox News internet address.

Some dork joined our county Dem message board and posted that. He was promptly eviscerated (figuratively) and then he quit.
