Edwards to visit Pittsburgh, focus on workers (Tues 7/17)
Democratic presidential hopeful John Edwards will stop in Pittsburgh next week as part of a three-day tour addressing poverty in America.

Edwards -- a former U.S. senator from North Carolina and the son of a mill worker -- will visit the Hill House Association and tour city neighborhoods next Tuesday, according to former U.S. Rep. David Bonior, D-Mich., Edwards' campaign manager.

Edwards' camp chose Pittsburgh, in part, to illustrate how union laborers struggled with the collapse of the steel industry and for the chance to stress the importance of job training, Bonior said.

Hill House CEO Evan Frazier said his group is a natural choice to show Edwards the face of the working poor in greater Pittsburgh, as well as the range of services available to them.
