I'd like to find a map as close as possible to where Sherman's army went in SC.

The ideal would be, showing EXACTLY where they went, but I realize that isn't too realistic.

I did some googling this morning and this was the closest thing I found to what I wanted.

I encourage you to phone the Relic Room too (it's in Columbia, but worth the drive):

and ask them about their map collections and whether they have the level of detail that you're seeking.

I would expect the answer to be "yes" they have the materials available, or the information available such that with some effort, you yourself could produce a map based upon the information gathered from research.

In any event, the Relic Room is a cool place to visit.

not that it has a map, but read The March by E L Doctorow. Incredible writing, the book has three chapters: Georgia (begins after the sacking of Atlanta), South Carolina (about half of the book) and North Carolina (follows the story until they get to Raleigh). The core of the book is what occurs in Columbia.
