Looking for LaPointe's of SD, elder was an Episc Rev~80 yrs old
Hello, I grew up in ND and met some LaPointe's (Lakota) in '71 on Standing Rock in ND. They moved to Rapid City, and I lost track of them. Wondering if anyone knows of them, probably living on varied reservations in SD. Manley, Laverne, Ruth, oh dear a bunch of them ranging in age from 60-35. There are probably younger ones than these (kids, grandkids, etc). If anyone knows of them, please let me know here or send me a pm. They were important to me during my formative yrs, and had a good influence on me. Thank you.

1. LaPointes
I know that there are (or were) some LaPointes here on the Cheyenne River Reservation during the past few years.

(I just checked and there is one presently listed in the Eagle Butte phone book; I don't know them well.)

2. LaPointe's in ND
Hello!

I have had the honor of marrying into the LaPointe family. In 2006 I married Manley's eldest son, Aaron. Last May I was fortunate enough to meet some of Aaron's uncles, LaMoine, Lynn, and Harold, most of his aunts (excluding Charlene), and many of the residents of Standing Rock. However, the occasion less than ideal. We were holding Manley's funeral services in the rec center at the edge of town (I can't remember the name of the building). He passed away May 29, 2007. I never got to meet Manley, but I have heard many stories about him from his brothers. I feel honored to say that Manley was my father-in-law. He was respected and loved by so many people.
Manley's memorial is being held today at Standing Rock.

3. Hi Shara! I don't know if you will ever see this but thank you.
I found a couple other LaPointes through Bebo about that same time also, I think of your generation also. They told me uncle Manley had died recently also and this made me sad as he was a very nice and good person. I can't remember who it was there, and can't find them there, but their mom said she remembered me.

If you get this, thank you for replying.
