I have a question about the South Dakota SOS site.
Looking at county listings, can anyone tell me why Bon Homme county isn't listed on the "Unofficial Results" page?

1. Interesting question.
And it's not just Bon Homme County that's missing. The are 65 counties in South Dakota, and I count 43 listed. Among the others missing are Corson, Yankton, and Ziebach.

I will ask the SOS office.

Just curious, how did you happen to notice?

2. My son and his family live there.
I want to encourage them to vote in the midterms (my small contribution to GOTV). Was trying to get informed on issues and candidates for his district, which led me to the SOS site. I'm still ignorant, and now puzzled.

4. So I called the Secretary of States Office, and asked
After some discussion, and some clicking around to different pages on the site it was determined that (1) the election date given on the page is wrong (2) the information given on the page only lists counties in which there were county level contested primaries back in June.

I clicked on a couple of the counties that were listed including my own, and yes, that was what was listed--results from county level contested primaries from June 2010.

5. Thanks for getting that info.
I've been looking through your threads and found some good stuff to pass along. Thanks for that too!
