State Rep. Rafael Anchia, who was injured last week in an automobile accident that killed his colleague Joe Moreno, offered his thanks Monday morning in an emotional speech to the Texas House.

"I want to let you know that I'm OK," Anchia, D-Dallas, told a hushed House chamber.

"In the difficulty of the last few days, I can only come to one conclusion that provides me with any solace. That's the understanding that God's plan has no flaws.

"And last Thursday, it was God's plan that I be with my friend Joe as he began his new journey."

1. Anchia is a good Rep. too
He's on elections and he votes the correct way on our issues. I just hope he and the legislative aide that was injured too will completely recover. It will be tough to deal with the loss of a friend.

Rest in peace Rep. Moreno.
