Bushitler "is arriving at love field tomorrow at 12:55, going to visit a school on 8th street, and flying out of love field at 2:25. Anyone out there interested in being either at the airport or the school to demonstrate? Which site would be best? I'm thinking the airport, since at the school the press will probably all be inside with him and we wouldn't be able to get close to the school area."
Below is info from the Democrats, just to show where, when, etc.. More info from the Greens. The Dems want no signs. That means bring your tents, crosses, signs, banners and anything else you can! We have to make sure the antiwar message is loud and clear and that Bush knows the name of Camp Casey Dallas!
Tomorrow, Friday, February 3, 2006, we need your help. There will be a protest in Dallas to bring attention to the Bush Administration's failed policies regarding higher education financial aid. Please join young democrats from all over North Texas for this important event. Ask off of work, take a long lunch, skip class, this is that important.
Here are all the details:
YOUNG DEMOCRATS TO PRESIDENT BUSH: STOP THE RAID ON STUDENT AID!!! AX THE GOP STUDENT TAX
In a post-State of the Union tour, President Bush will visit a local Dallas school on Friday only to deliver more of his same old lofty education rhetoric, but the truth is Texas students just can?t get a break. Under Republican rule in Washington and Austin, working parents trying to send their kids to college get nothing but a double blow.
While the President travels the country selling empty promises, Tom DeLay and Republicans in the House of Representatives voted this week to gut $11.9 billion in student aid programs, the largest cut in our nation?s history. But this GOP tax on student borrowers is not the first attack on Texas students, who are still reeling from the outrageous increases in college tuition under Rick Perry and Tom Craddick.
Join fellow Democrats TOMORROW to call on President Bush to stand by his words and veto any legislation that robs students of the opportunity to obtain higher education and achieve the American dream. Tell President Bush to stop the raid on student aid!!!

Donate to TCYD: Please click here to contribute Tomorrow, there will be a protest at the school. the Dems are meeting across the school where they believe that the secret service will allow them to park.
They are meeting at 11am. We need Greens to come out in full force tomorrow wearing Green t shirts and carrying Green signs. The Democrats don't want any signs other than ones about education (which is fine for them) but we need to have a STRONG anti war message at the protest. Code Pink will be there with anti war signs as well. We should support Code Pink in Dallas and encourage more women to participate in this process.
will this interfere with Camp Casey tomorrow or will Camp Casey be moved to Oak Cliff this week?

On October 5, .....and I carried a letter to the office of Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison, asking her the three questions which Cindy Sheehan first posed to President Bush. What is the noble cause for which these people are dying? How many more lives are you willing to sacrifice? What plan do you have for ending the Iraq War. When Laray Polk and I approached the building two days later to get her answers, we were told by police that we couldn't enter and given warnings of criminal trespass. Since that date, 300 Americans and an unknown number of Iraqis have been killed, and Senator Hutchison has not answered us. Her response has been five arrests and ten more warnings of criminal trespass. We ask her why constituents are arrested for trying to approach their senator. We get no answer. We ask her for a town hall meeting, and get no answer. On December 30, Lon Burnam told the senator's office manager that if she had not set a date for a town hall meeting by February 15, he would not be able to guarantee the behavior of demonstrators on that date. This woman continues to support the naked aggression which has resulted in the deaths of over 2200 Americans and over 100,000 Iraqis. We forgive her. She denies her constituents the right to approach her office to petition her. We forgive her. We forgive this woman who acquiesces to and is complicit in a policy of mass murder and deception which has led to all the death. We forgive her, and on February 15, we will be delivering flowers to her Dallas office. Join us. Subject: Re: A Week to Honor a Hero
Yesterday, a group of 15 of us (We became 16 when Al Lipscomb joined us.) went to read the sermon that Dr. Martin Luther King read at the Riverside Church in New York City, on April 4, 1967. In this speech, Dr King first came out against the war in Vietnam and war and militarism in general. Our purpose was to show the hypocrisy of a parade, which is put on by the Martin Luther King Center, an agency of the City of Dallas, which purports to honor this champion of peace, while allowing guns, facsimiles of guns and military and ROTC units. Reverend Johnson was the first of us to speak. He told the city council why we were there. Two more of us got to read from the speech before lunch. Councilman Chaney expressed interest in and support for what we were doing and promised that if we wrote a resolution, he would work to get it passed by the council. During a two hour lunch, we wrote a resolution, which reads WHEREAS, the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was love, non violence and peace; and WHEREAS, Dr. King's commitment was to non violent conflict resolution; and WHEREAS, a coalition of religious and peace organizations stand ready to assist in whatever is possible; THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: SECTION 1. That the commemoration of this holiday be couched in dignity, consistent with the principles of love, nonviolence, unity and peace. SECTION 2. Furthermore, an appropriate march shall be fashioned to reflect the deep concerns of the people of the City of Dallas for persons imprisoned by poverty, homelessness and social and economic injustice. This resolution was submitted to the city council and will be voted on next Wednesday. Mr Chaney and Reverend Johnson think we have the votes to get it passed! During the afternoon, twelve more of us read from the speech, which becomes ever stronger as it approaches its conclusion. By the end of the day, members of the audience were saying "Amen!", "Yes!" and "You tell it!". When the meeting concluded at 3:00, we went to the Martin Luther King Center, Where high school teacher Curtis Ferguson was picketing against the use of the N word, and other derogatory terms by students. He has a tent, though he is not allowed to sleep in it, and he plans to stay until Monday, during which time he will be on a hunger strike. I was carrying a sign, and the officers on duty told me that I couldn't come onto the center's property, but had to stay on the sidewalk. I let it go, not explaining that this city agency was public property. Tomorrow, we will be at Camp Casey Dallas, outside Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison?s office at noon. We are asking people to bring signs either quoting Dr. King, or otherwise showing the hypocrisy of a government, which calls Dr. King a hero, while waging war. At 2:00, Lon Burnam will join us. He is asking for a group to join him, as he goes upstairs to ask Hutchison why she hasn?t responded to our demand for a town hall meeting. Saturday, the Dallas Peace Center is putting on a workshop on non violence at the Dallas Central Library, at 1 PM. The library is at 1515 Young St., and the workshops will be in the East and West rooms. Monday evening at 6:30, a coalition of groups is holding a meeting to discuss coalition building and future actions. As I have said, Camp Casey Dallas will be central to the discussions, so please plan to come to the Jaycee Park Art Center at 2000 W. Airport Freeway, Irving.
