The Texas Democratic Party has hit the ground running in 2006 and has launched the TDP Road Trip, which starts in Austin and ends in your neighborhood.
What’s the TDP Road Trip? It’s our effort to reach out to Democrats across Texas – whether it’s sending out emails to voters about Republicans wasting your tax dollars to hire DeLay cronies or sending our field staff to all corners of the state or making an updated voter file available nine months before the election.
More than ever before, the Texas Democratic Party is working in every part of the state and focusing on helping Democrats win office at every level.

https://www.onlinecontribution.com/tdp/?ref=020906In one week alone, TDP field staff traveled out west training Precinct Chairs with the El Paso Democratic Party, taught candidates and activists in Fort Worth on the best ways to use the voter file, and met with local candidates at a county party event in Lubbock. It would take too long to actually list every city, town and county that our staff have been in the last two months.
Our field staff are only one part of the TDP’s efforts to empower Democrats across the state. Keep an eye on the TDP website for the new 2006 Grassroots Handbook that will help you organize your neighborhood and make a real difference for Democrats in November.
Grassroots HandbookYour contribution of $25, $50, $100 or even more will help fund regional candidate & activist trainings this spring and summer!
If you’re in Austin, you can join us for our first "Road Trip" event on Wednesday, February 22nd. Ticket prices start as low as $50 per person (and only $35 for TDP Sustaining Members), so we hope to see all of friends there. For those of you who don’t live in Austin, don’t despair – we’ll be visiting your area soon, or you can always show your support by contributing online today!
An investment in the TDP is an investment in a Democratic Texas! The TDP is running an efficient operation – our budget is actually in the "black" – and we’re making good use of every penny we raise.
You can always be sure your contributions will be used to elect Democrats, to help us re-build our infrastructure, assemble a statewide network of activists and communicate with voters and the media instead of paying off debt or legal fees.
If you need more reasons to support the Texas Democratic Party, here’s one - the Republicans run their party just like they run our government – spending money they don’t have. As the Dallas Morning News reported, "Republicans had almost $130,000 in cash, but listed bills and debts of $277,000." For the first time in years,
the TDP is in better financial shape than the Republicans heading into an election season. Make no mistake about it – their corporate and special-interest friends will be writing checks to erase their debt, so we need YOUR support to maintain our financial edge.
2006 is going to be an exciting year for Democrats…and with your help, we’ll build a stronger Democratic Party.
Very truly yours,
Charles E. Soechting
