podcasts of interviews with Maxey and Richie
http://media21a.libsyn.com/ZXdqeMp1bH6ZepR1l3tuomeoYHnG/podcasts/thedotshow/Dot_Show_6-4.mp3

I got an email about this today:

James,
Welcome to The DOT Show.

For the last several months, TG Caraway and I have been recording a podcast (see description at left) about politics in Texas; focusing on the Legislature, campaigns, and Democratic events. We will also be showcasing Texas musicians from time to time.

TG is a longtime Democratic activist who lives in Austin and volunteers and contributes to numerous campaigns. I also live in Austin and represent Texas on the Democratic National Committee.

We record a new show every couple weeks and try to keep the show under 20 minutes to inform Democrats across the state about what is going on in Austin and all around the state.

We hope you will enjoy listening and if at any time you would like off the notification list, please unsubscribe using the link at the bottom of this email.

On the latest DOT Show, TG and David interview our State Party Chair candidates on their agendas and goals and discuss their preference among the candidates.

Where did this email really come from? Clue: addressed to Dear James just like all of the Maxey emails I get and to repeat, I am not James.

Anyway, here's a chance to hear Maxey and Richie speak, if you haven't already. You don't need any special equipment to hear this.

1. You're tearing me up
I have a feeling that your name is not Jimmie, like my mother Jimmie Jean. She is addressed as James every now and then.

Too bad DOT didn't interview Charlie Urbina Jones. Love DOT show though.

2. How about Jamie?
Can we -- well, can Boyd -- call you Jamie?

3. NO!
And, James is the name of my ex-husband. Yuk.

If Maxey is going to call me by a boy's name, at least he could call me by a cute boy's name, say maybe, Dear Mark Strama.

5. yeah, but this is to my email address
That seemingly has no connection to the ex. So, it's probably an unhappy coincidence. Definitely an irritant!

6. You make one little mistake, like marrying an asshole and
nobody every lets you forget it. It sucks! My mom introduced me to 2 very hot young men as Mrs. Wall last week. I just about exploded!

7. We get mail for Mr. SPL's ex-hussy
at our PO Box so I guess the change of address picked it up

Don't know who I need to talk to at the Tejanos but they took the address off my check, not my membership form and I always miss their meetings because I forget about them and the reminders come too late after they are routed from our old address to our PO Box.

8. Muse, I don't know about you
But I got that email from DNC member David Holmes, who has endorsed Richie. So whoever is at fault for calling you James, I don't think it is Glen Maxey.

10. check out my post below
David helped get this straightened out. :)

I didn't notice his name or think about who he endorsed. You are a better detective than me!

9. It looks like my days as James are numbered . . .
I got the nicest email from David Holmes, one of the hosts of the DOT show and also of the Democratic National Committee, Texas. He said the James thing was a typo from the SD convention sign up lists that was entered into a data base incorrectly. He went through the list until he found a James that didn't obviously match up and then emailed me.

So, I guess this means we are going to stop saying nasty things about our ex-spouses? :(
