WTF's going on in Galveston?!?
Got this via email on another list. Can anyone substantiate?

Subject: E-mail I received from a Kucinich supporter in Houston

Our North Headquarters were vandalized Tues. night or
Wed. morning. Karl Silverman, one of the founders of
the Neighborhood Democrats and SD 11 SDEC, wrote the
following article which is far superior to the one
that appeared in The Galveston County Daily News.

June

ALL THEY HAVE TO OFFER IS FEAR

There was a terrorist attack in Galveston County last
night. Glass was shattered as was the safety and
security of every American citizen. It wasn't Al
Qaeda but it just as easily could have been. In the
middle of the night a car jack smashed a window at the
Democratic Campaign Headquarters in League City. The
terrorist's left their calling card on the building
for all to see and fear; it was a Bush / Cheney 04
bumper sticker. The police now have it as evidence.

Stealing yard signs wasn't enough; tearing down large
4x4 Kerry - Edwards highway signs wasn't enough; and
yelling derogatory comments at the Santa Fe Heritage
Days fair wasn't enough. They had to step it up a
notch. Make volunteers afraid to be alone at their
headquarters. Does this sound familiar? It should if
you remember your history. These were the tactics
used by Hitler's Socialist Party in Germany in the mid
1930s. First, find a group to blame all your problems
on, like the Democrats. Ridicule them constantly.
Tell them that it's the Democrats fault for all that
is wrong. Scare your supporters with the idea that if
the enemy isn't driven out they'll take over the
country and you'll be left with nothing. Hammer the
message home morning, noon, and night until you've
worked your supporters into a frenzy. That's what
they did in Germany and Crystal Night came on November
9-10, 1938, and over 7,500 Jewish shops were
destroyed. Has Crystal Night started again here in
League City? Do you think I'm overstating what
happened? Think about it.

These are the same people that say Kerry's Purple
Hearts were from scratches when he served honorably in
Viet Nam, while their fearless leader was AWOL from
the National Guard. These are the same people that
pushed the Patriot Act through but will let the
assault weapon ban expire. These are the same!
compass ionate people that gave tax breaks to the
richest two percent while reneging on No Child Left
Behind. These are the same people that try to paint
Liberals as bad when all they want to do is fight for
clean air, safe water, good schools, and health care
and equality for all. These Republicans are the same
people that sent Americans off to war but wanted to
cut combat pay, educational benefits, and health care
for our armed forces. Speaking of war, we've just
lost the one thousandth American soldier in Iraq, and
for what? Was it to stop a madman from using weapons
of mass destruction? No, there were no weapons of
mass destruction. There weren't even any plans for
weapons of mass destruction. Did we go into Iraq with
our allies at our side as Bush promised? No, again.
Did we have a plan to get in and get out like the
President promised? No. Was it that Iraq supported
the 9/11 attacks as Bush said. No, the attackers were
Saudis and had nothing to do with Iraq. Was it that
Iraq was an imminent threat to the USA? No, again.
It was only about oil and getting Cheney's Halliburton
$500 billion in no-bid contracts. All the time
they're yelling that the sky is falling; buy that
plastic sheeting and duct tape; watch your fellow
citizens and report suspicious activity. Lie, cheat,
steal, and make Americans fear their fellow citizens.
Do whatever it takes to win an election. From League
City to Galveston to Washington, DC, tell the
Republicans you've had enough. Vote!

1. They are going too far. This is scary, but I will not be
afraid. Great comments by Mr. Silverman.
