What are you guys doing to GOTV?

Here in HD129, we have a door hanger for our Fantastic Four candidates, Noriega, Lampson, Jaworski, and Matula.

We have been knocking on doors of most probable Democrats for 30 of 38 precincts in HD129.

I am curious to compare what others are doing.

1. Organizing my PCT

With phone calls, block walking, and delivering yard signs.

I have 10 confirmed coming to the precinct convention. two years ago it was 1. 4 years ago it was 4!

I have 15 others that I know are considering it.

I am shooting for 30 this year! My precinct can send 17 to the senate convention.

This is a RED RED area, so my numbers are low, but we are gaining.

I am looking for an overflow crowd at voting time. We have talked with about 200 possible democrats in my precinct with about 10% saying they are republicans.

So we are doing some good things.

Hell even in my very blue Democratic PCT 30 is high. More power to you. I guess I'll have to set my goals higher.

4. Working on my precinct.

I got out an email last week to my list. I got out a postcard too. I did my postcard to all Dems plus people with only general election voting history, so it was a pretty big mailer, 1500 pieces. I have a pretty big precinct, about 2500 voters, and they vote. We get probably 80% turnout in general Presidential years. We had 10 people at our precinct convention in 2006 (an off year!) and I kind of am getting a little bit worried about what I'm going to face this year. With all the publicity I would not be surprised if we had 50 or even 100 people at the precinct convention.

So, I'm actually going to focus on making sure my polling place is organized. I might do a bit more GOTV, but this precinct doesn't need me to drag them to the polls. They will show up and knock me over to get to vote. :D
