9. Have fun
We going to Barack and Roll in Austin. Rally at 5:00 hopefully with Mr. Obama in attendance and then watch party at Scholtz Beer Garten. It's going to be packed. I'm hoping the weather holds up for us. There are possible thunderstorms in the forecast and hopefully they show up early and are out of here by 5:00.

Say hello to the lovely Mrs Dittie and I won't tell her you're doing double takes on those young hot lawyers for Obama.

16. Welcome to DU, timbo_houston_tx
Good for you on getting your tickets early.

:hi:

I figured he would draw well in Houston. Heck if he could draw 20,000 plus here in Austin a year ago, we was sure to draw 18,000 in Houston weeks before the primary.

Obama-mentum!

So don't let the sell-out keep you from showing up!

21. Obama crowds in Houston
Postcards from the Lege blog 2/19/08
Obama crowds in Houston

By Mike Ward | Tuesday, February 19, 2008, 04:15 PM

Four hours and counting before his first Houston appearance, Barack Obama was already packing them in.

At 4 p.m., more than 500 people — a mixed crowd of African Americans, young Hispanics and whites — were lined up outside the Toyota Center, spilling into downtown streets, for an expected 8 p.m. appearance.

Texans for Obama organizers said 15,000 are expected for the sold-out ticket event.

23. CNN carried the event
I watched most of it off their web site. Yea free air time!!

He's still working the crowd at the end of his speech. Shaking a lot of hands.

He looked a bit tired to me. I hope he gets some rest tonight. He has a big schedule all over Texas this week.

24. Being broadcast again on MSNBC right now.
The crowd noise was MUCH louder when I was IN it! LOL!

It was fabulous! I met so many cool people, and it was beautiful to be in a crowd that really reflected the diversity of our state.

There were quite a few logistical and crowd-flow problems, but those are good signs in ways as well!

25. I loved this blog quote
From the Texas Politics blog off the Houston Chronicle
8:38 p.m.: Obama just came out to thunderous applause. I've never heard it this loud during a Rockets game. This is like Astros loud. Obama opened by saying, "Y'all know how to do it in Texas," before continuing, "Houston, I think we have achieved liftoff."
