AAS 2/18/08House Democrats who supported Craddick fighting for jobsMISSION, Texas — Kino Flores knew this day would eventually come. He's been preparing for it since 2003.
That was when the veteran House Democrat cast his first vote to help Republican Tom Craddick become speaker of the Texas House. He's made the same vote twice since.
Each time, he knew that his support of the increasingly unpopular Republican would alienate him from his party's faithful and it would someday be used against him.
Now, in this notoriously cutthroat political arena, Flores is fighting his most serious challenger since he was elected in 1996.
He's one of four Craddick Ds, Democrats who supported the Republican speaker, who now find themselves under attack on the March 4 primary ballot.

In Flores' District 36, Sandra Rodriguez has set her sights on replacing him. She says her opponent is lying when he calls himself a Democrat.
Go Sandra Go! I hope she blows him away in Mission.
