What a time to be sick! :-(
The most exciting time to be politically active in Texas, and I have been in bed all day with fever, chills, and aches, and coughing like a 40-year chain smoker. I missed Kerry in Galveston today, and I don't know if I will be up for seeing Michelle Obama in Galveston Monday. I hope if I sleep most of the weekend, my little white blood cells can put all my energy into virus-hunting!

When I take a break from my naps, I'll get a dose of MSNBC and DU, cheer, get mad, cheer some more, eat soup, and then go back to bed.

I hope one or two of my fellow Obama supporters out there will have pity on me and make a few extra phone calls to make up for the ones I can't make because I am coughing too damn much! I'll try to make up for it later, but NOW is so important in Texas!

1. Take a rest
Sleep and rest is what you need. And some positive thinking. You will get better soon.

6. I'm sleeping as much as I can...
hoping I'll feel well enough to see MO manana. So far I still feel pretty crappy... the only improvement has been less achy.

2. Not you too
I feel like run-over crap right now. I still dragged myself to a precinct party thing though but now I wish I hadn't.

Keep knocking back vitamin C & nyquil!

7. Run-over crap, yep, that's what it's like!
I slept about 16 hours yesterday. My personal theory of combatting a cold is to sleep through as much of it as possible. I figure it helps in 2 ways...

1) Your body needs energy to fight the cold, so the less energy you use in other ways, the better.

2) The more you sleep, the less you know you're sick! LOL

3. Sounds like the flu
I had it 2 weeks ago and your symptoms are EXACTLY like mine. I don't even remember the last time I had it. Man it sucked.

If you have decent insurance, go to the doctor and get some Tamiflu. It is not a cure but will lessen the severity and duration.

Good luck and get better soon!

8. I think it's too late for Tamiflu...
doesn't that have to be taken in the first 2 days?

It could be the flu, but I am not sure yet. I think the biggest sign of the flu is how long it takes to fully recover. I only had the flu once, and even after my symptoms were gone, it took a good 2 weeks more before I had any energy. It was like I was totally wiped out. Since then I get the flu shot every year, but I know it is not 100% effective.

4. I've got a terrible cough.
And a bacterial infection, I believe. My partner had a bad ear infection with drainage and chest cough as well, a few days ago.

9. If you think you have a bacterial infection, you should get antibiotics.
So far, I think I just have a bad virus.... hoping it ends there. I hope you both feel better soon!

10. I'm trying....
I am hoping I'll be back up to speed in a few days, and will be ready for the big push to Primary Day.
