Jackson said he skipped the chance of being an Oscar presenter Sunday in Los Angeles, instead choosing to drum up support for Obama in East Texas on Sunday afternoon. Obama is running against Sen. Hillary Clinton for the Democratic presidential nomination.

Organizers estimated that more than 400 people showed up at Eddie Towles Telephone Repair Service & Phone Center, Obama's Longview headquarters, to hear Jackson speak and perhaps get an autograph or picture.

During a six-minute monologue, Jackson told the crowd he supported Obama because of the senator's desire to re-create middle- class America.

"There are only two classes of people - haves and have nots," Jackson said. "I'm one of the fortunate ones that has become a have. I want others to have the same opportunity."

1. East Texas. Sheesh. Man, that's a tough area for minorities to campaign.

I gotta hand it to Samuel Jackson for going there. I think Michele Obama also campaigned in southeast Texas. Some braaaaaave people.

That was the area that kept Ron Kirk from becoming a U.S. Senator from Texas. He was so close, but southeast TX just wouldn't go for it.

Obama Campaign's Longview Headquarters Hit By Vandals

The building is the Gregg County campaign office of Barack Obama where just yesterday, hundreds of East Texans showed up to see actor, Samuel L. Jackson stump for the campaign.

The building is not only the headquarters for Obama's Gregg County campaign, but it is also a phone service center. Early this morning the owner, Eddie Towles and his technicians found the words "a racist" spray painted on two company vans.

"I don't even know why anyone would do this except ignorance- total ignorance,"said Towles Phone Center technician, Lonzell Johnson.

Shameful, disgusting behavior!
