Looks like I may be a delegate for Obama

to my county convention in Denton county. I wasn't at the Precinct - I'm in Corpus for the rest of the week for a conference - But my wife is a delegate and got my name out down as an alternate and it looks like there might not be enough delegates.

5. I could definitely swing a trip to Austin

I'm really just excited to get to go to the county one. I won't push for the state convention, but it would definitely be cool.

I really do hope I get past county and make it to Austin. Tonight I wasn't even prepared and felt like an idiot making my "why you should elect me as a delegate" speech. :P

13. There was one guy at the precinct that wanted to do speeches

This other lady and I just said, stand up if you want to be a delegate. We got 7 delegates, 7 people stood up, no speeches. :)

14. We had at least 30 people on each side trying to be one of nine.

We had an even split of 9 and 9 for each camp.

We tried to avoid the speeches too. Especially me I was feeling all shy. :P Then we had a really large amount of people who wanted to be delegates. We were trapped in a speeches nightmare.

It got a little hectic, but in a good way.

Apparently they are having a problem finding a location for the Denton Convention.

Do ya'll go to county or senatorial district?

Tonight they said they didn't know where it was going to be exactly. But we all wrote down on a sheet of paper our address, email and phone number.

It's on March 29th, that's all I know. I think it'll be somewhere in Ft Worth.

9. I was a delegate for Jimmy Carter

at the Senatoral convention in our District in Houston way back the. Melodie and I were delegate and alternate for Gary Hart in Mississippi I have been to other county conventions in Conroe and Olympia WA

I'm just really excited. I'm looking forward to the county convention.

As I told a friend tonight, I reached a new level of political dorkiness.

after all signatures were obtained there were only 21 people left and that's how many delegates were needed plus 21 alternates. Will know more later...
