27,562 idiots in Travis County
That's how many votes Gene Kelly got for Senate.

Thankfully Rick Noriega received 86,137 votes.

1. A conservative estimate
I spent a good part of the day yesterday on the sidewalk in front of an elementary school polling place. I had never realized just how terrifying it could be to watch people try to park.
:scared:

6. Funny you should use the word conservative...
I imagine a fair number of people were guessing and went with the well known name. I also wonder how many were pukes who were just filling the bill.

4. As Molly Ivins said
If you took the idiots out of the Texas Legislature, it wouldn't be a representative body

5. If that shitbag Kelly had forced another run-off, I was gonna look him up.
He lives in my semi-ancestral home. It's not that big; it wouldn't take me long to find him.

Of course, I'd just give him a stern talking-to.

8. "Of course, I'd just give him a stern talking-to. "
 I'm sure many of us imagined MUCH worse after 2006...

9. Yes, but how many were crossover Rushbots
who were voting in the Democratic primary for the "weakest" candidate.

7. I still can't believe that horse's ass got more votes than Ray McMurrey
Did Kelly campaign? NO. Did he have a website? NO. Did he debate either Noriega or McMurrey? NO. And he STILL took more votes than McMurrey did.

I'm speechless. I thought everyone learned their lesson after the 2006 runoff.
