I was just wondering if there is any requirement for a quorum at a convention.
The rules say:
3. At all Party Committee meetings other than Conventions, County Executive Committees (Temporary Rule Change) and Convention Caucuses, 40% of the Committee membership shall constitute a quorum. If the meeting is to fill a vacancy, however, a majority of the Committee membership shall be required for a quorum as specified in State law.
But it doesn't say what the quorum for a convention is, or if there is one at all.
Also, I was looking through the TDP rules and found this:
(c) Roll Call Votes. The Rules on roll call votes shall be as follows: in a Precinct Convention the roll shall be the list of all qualified Party members present; in a County or Senatorial District Convention, the list of all precincts within that county or senatorial district; and in the State Convention, the list of senatorial districts within the state. A motion to require a roll call vote shall take precedence over any other item of business.
So it seems to me that IF people are trying to determine quorum at a convention, and IF you have a roll call vote at a convention, the roll call is of precincts, not of people. Correct?
