Warning from Boyd Richie - robocalls to delegates
Man, this is more than I thought she'd do.

Reports of phony phone calls to Democratic delegates
March 28, 2008 - 3:28PM
James Osborne
McALLEN - The Texas Democratic Party has received reports of unknown persons calling and e-mailing delegates to incorrectly inform them their county and senate district conventions have been cancelled, said party spokesman Hector Nieto.
Nieto said several delegates had reported incidents to party officials, but he did not know where in Texas they hailed from. He said party officials were investigating who's behind the misinformation campaign.

Please share that the caucuses will go on, despite Hillary's lies.

1. And her delegates will remain committed to her.
The Clintons are just sleaze. Both of them. What would Molly say? She already said it. And this time, if the Clintons pull it off, she would not implore everyone to "vote the party" as she did in 2006.

As soon as the numbers started slipping away from her, she showed her true colors as did her supporters. Racism and xenophobia belong in the Republican Party not the Democratic Party. Which is probably where the Clintons belong. Have people lost their minds that they think she is a viable candidate for the people?

Richie: Delegates Should Disregard Misleading Information
Suggesting County or District Conventions Have Been Canceled

Below is a statement by Texas Democratic Chairman Boyd Richie regarding the upcoming County and Senate District Conventions:

It has come to our attention that someone, perhaps in the name of the Texas Democratic Party, is spreading misinformation about upcoming County and Senate District Conventions. We have received reports from delegates who have received e-mails saying that conventions have been canceled. We have also received unconfirmed reports that someone is placing robo-calls, claiming to be from the Texas Democratic Party, suggesting that county or district conventions have been canceled".

The Texas Democratic Party has not been informed that any county or district convention has been canceled or postponed. If any delegates receive information to that effect, I urge them to plan to attend their convention as scheduled unless they receive information about a postponement or cancellation from their local Democratic County Chair or the official Texas Democratic Party website.

As we begin the next step in the convention process, all eyes are once again on Texas, watching and waiting to see the outcome of the delegate count that will be determined by our County and Senatorial District Conventions and State Convention. I am confident that the vast majority of Democrats will conduct our convention business in the fairest, most professional, and most impartial manner possible, as we work to convert the enthusiasm driving the convention process into Democratic victories from the County Courthouse to the State House to the White House.

4. Not so fast on your assumption of who is responsible
Clinton delegates were targeted by this disinformation campaign. I spoke to one delegate last night who received the calls and emails. I am now receiving reports of many others across the state. This appears to have been very well organized and widespread across the state.

I am working on finding out exactly what is being done to call trace and if possible, trace the source of the emails as well. For the good of our party and in the interest of a fair and free democracy, I am going to do everything I possibly can to find out who is behind this disinformation campaign. Plain and simple, these folks are CRIMINALS.

I will let you all know as I find out more...

6. Remember that the lists went out to the campaigns
without the presidential preferences. So Obama & Clinton delegates would have been on the hit list. But, based on past behavior, which candidate would want the caucuses disrupted so she would have grounds to file a lawsuit to quash the outcome of the conventions?

8. We shall see...
There were robo calls, calls advising the conventions today were canceled and then also calls with erroneous check-in times provided..e.g. delegates were advised to check-in at 1:30 pm, but check-in was actually at 7 am...that was here in Travis County.

The fact that there were robo calls as well as person-to-person calls and this disinformation campaign was widespread across Texas indicates this criminal effort was very well organized and had campaign-type resources behind it. But having worked for the phone company, I know the origin of calls can be easily traced, so they should be able to identify exactly where the calls were placed from and find out who is behind this criminal activity. I believe it also may be possible to ID the IP address where the emails originated, so likely we can learn the truth from that avenue as well.

It really is sad to see this level of corruption and if it is coming from a campaign, that does not bode well for what that candidate's administration would be like should they actually make it to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Lord knows we've lived the past seven years with criminals running our government! But hey, we have the means to figure it out and expose these folks for the true criminals they are...and hopefully keep them far far away from the White House.

Thanks sonia for the welcome. I'm glad to be able to hang (in this case virtually) with a bunch of die-hard Democrats anytime!
