You are NOT going to believe what Rick Perry said at the Memorial Day service in Dallas

ginbarn and I were able to make it to the Dallas National Cemetery for a little while to pay our respects to those who gave their lives for our nation. As it turns out, the cemetery has a big to-do every year with guest speakers, a Marine 21-gun salute, and a "Missing Man" formation by military jets flying overhead.

Ther service was okay until Governor Goodhair took to the podium and opened his big mouth. Rick Perry actually said that some of the naysayers on the occupation of Iraq "got no closer to Iraq than the beach at Martha's Vineyard." Care to take a crack at whom Gov. Perry was referring to?

Frankly, the two of us find this unconscionable, kicking Ted Kennedy while he's down like that. If Rick Noriega was in the vicinity, you know Gov. Perry wouldn't be talking shit about the Democrats like that.

7. Slamming Another Ex-Serviceman, Rick? Real Classy

Rick's time in the air force may have blinded him to the idea that folks in the other party may also have also served in the US armed forces. A trip over to Wikipedia shows that the senior senator from Massachusetts DID put in two years in the US Army in the early 1950's.

Real classy, Rick. But then, that's the contemptible sort of rhetoric we've come to expect from flag-waving "conservatives."
