I got the idea from another thread and the started this one in GD proposing adjusting the salaries of members of Congess to tie them to the real economy.

1. You seem to forget how Constitutional Amendments are passed.

And there is also the problem that if you don't pay congressmen a competitive wage, they will take their expertise and apply it in the private sector.

When it comes to wages, you frequently get what you pay for.
