How's the rest of TX doing with their weather?
We've had over 17 inches of rain since 2 weekends ago, and it's dumping, thundering, and lightening here now, again. Supposed to last for a few hours.

I feel like a mushroom. :( Plus, my tv goes out when the weather is this bad. Oh, the humanity!

On the plus side, I expect the frogs any day now-lots of 'em.

1. I'm not sure how much rain we got...
... but by the puddles in the yard and the torn up newspaper in the house, we had alot of rain and alot of thunder(my Dingo hates thunder and will tear up stuff when it happens).

The frogs are on the plus side-love their singing in the evening!

4.  Yes, of course it rained this morning
I had a presentation in my management class at 8am and it included a huge paper visual aid that was in my car. Luckily it lightened up when I got to school, and since I got there 20 minutes early, I pulled up right to the door (where the handicapped parking is) and got it inside within a couple of minutes (and then of course, moved my car to an appropriate parking spot).

I think it's supposed to rain pretty much every day this week in the DFW area.

8. I don't know how much we got on the 18th of April,
because I didn't have a rain gauge at that time. But it completely filled the ditches and threatened to come in the house. Think it *did* come into some houses on our block. It wasn't the drainage, either, because the ditches were way down by a few hours after it hit. I think we had a microburst of some sort.

Last night I *did* have a rain gauge - it only said about an inch, but the ditches were very full. Either it's off or the ground is *really* saturated.

They closed our school district today, but really we weren't flooded, except maybe in a few areas that got the kind of microburst we got on the 18th - I dunno.

And we are expecting another 6-8 days of rain.

I'm going to west Texas to dry out a little.

10. I'm expecting an outbreak of mosquitoes and West Nile virus, even though
we've only had about an inch in the last two days. Less than 2 inches for the year down here along the central gulf coast. We are still grossly behind in rainfall.

My father in Washington County has had to duck and cover for at least three separate tornado warnings over the last three weeks.

I don't mind the frogs, but the mosquitoes will be bad, and they can carry West Nile virus.

11. We've had rain off and on for 2 wks here in Dallas, but that's fine w/me.
Later on in the summer, we're likely to have dry spells (sometimes called droughts), so I'll take the rain when I can get it. My yard is GREEN instead of brown!

I spent this afternoon doing yard work and I'm tired! I already miss the cool breezes of spring when I could leave my windows open and not use the AC :)

22. Rain in Texas always seems too much or too little.
So, the average rainfall looks ok, but it is deceptive. It's like the guy whose feet are in the oven and whose head is in the refrigerator. His average temperature is just right.

We need to build a water pipeline from your lawn to Central Texas. We're dieing of thirst here.
