Now it’s time for the next step. I want to invite you to choose which promising Democratic challenger for the Senate that we’re going to support next. Like before, the winner of our online vote will be featured in a fundraising email to our PAC for Change community. So your vote, and the votes of your friends and family, are critically important.

Every day it is becoming clearer to the people of Virginia that we need new leadership in the Senate. Just compare what's been happening in the last few weeks

Jim Webb proposed giving veterans of the Global War on Terrorism the same GI Bill benefits that veterans of World War II received - free college tuition, textbooks and a monthly stipend while they're in school. With some soldiers serving two or even three tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, our nation owes them nothing less.

Jim Webb received the endorsement of the 7,000 members of the Virginia Coal Miners Political Action Committee (COMPAC). As Sam Church, former President of United Mine Workers Association and Virginia Coordinator for COMPAC said, "Jim Webb understands the challenges facing mine workers and cares deeply about mine safety and improving wages for working families."

You and I know that we need Jim's leadership in the Senate. Here are three things you can do to help today:

1.. Vote for Jim Webb in Senator Barbara Boxer's "PAC for a Change" contest. She's asking Americans to choose their favorite Democratic Senate candidate (aka Jim Webb!) who is seeking to unseat a Senate Republican. She'll then send an email on behalf of the winner to the hundreds of thousands of people on her email list asking them to donate. This will help our campaign gain badly needed resources -- tens of thousands of dollars to help Jim defeat George Felix Allen. It is also a great way to win new supporters. Voting ends this week, so vote today and help Jim win Senator Boxer's "PAC for a Change" contest!

2.. Sign up to volunteer with our campaign. We need people to go door to door to tell Virginians about Jim. This is one of the most effective ways of reaching out to voters. Help us do it today!

3.. Tell a friend about Jim's campaign. We need to spread the word about Jim's campaign to every voter in Virginia.
So what's George Felix Allen been up to? Shockingly, he voted to use the border patrol to detain American citizens seeking to buy prescription drugs in Canada. And he voted to block an effort to restore cuts to Northern Virginia's Homeland Security funding. What do those things have in common? They're exactly the way the White House wanted George Allen to vote.

The contrast could not be clearer. Jim Webb will fight for Virginia and stand with its people. George Allen will continue to be George Bush's rubber stamp in the Senate - even when that means hurting this great state.
