Fitzgerald: Dem senators won't be allowed to vote in committees
Edited on Mon Mar-14-11 06:16 PM by undeterred
5:08pm

Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald wrote this afternoon in an email to his caucus that Senate Dems remain in contempt of the Senate and will not be allowed to vote in committees despite returning from their out-of-state boycott of the budget repair bill vote.

"They are free to attend hearings, listen to testimony, debate legislation, introduce amendments, and cast votes to signal their support/opposition, but those votes will not count, and will not be recorded," wrote Fitzgerald, R-Juneau.

3. Who is gonna stop the out of control Republicans?
Edited on Mon Mar-14-11 09:22 PM by Sabien
Yes, it seems that many people are on our "side" and more cheese heads are waking up every day - but clearly that doesn't even matter!

Hard core right wing Republican majority in the Senate
Hard core right wing Republican majority in the Assembly
Hard core right wing Republican Governor
Republican Attorney General
Republican majority on the State Supreme Court

I'm a voting, law-abiding, tax-paying citizen of this great state - yet I have no representation in my state government. In fact those in power show only contempt for us. I would never have believed that something like this could happen in the country I love, and yet here we are. Feels like a nightmare that never ends, and I'm afraid it's going to get worse. This past month has been HELL - sure feels like BIG GOVERNMENT to me...

According to Scott Fitzgerald (and his lockstep cronies in the Senate), the Fab 14 were in contempt by being out of state, and they're still in contempt by being back in Wisconsin. He considers it their "job" to sit there, shut up, and get steam-rolled.

The only good thing about this is that it won't last forever...

4. The problem is simple.
It started with Bush. 51% may be a win in an election, but that doesn't mean the other 49% plus whoever didn't get off their lazy ass to vote, cease to exist.

Bush thought so. Sensenbrenner turned out the lights and mics on the Dems when they were banished to the basement. Walker and his cronies think so.

How many Guard are left in the state?

Bachmann had it wrong. Lexington and Concord may be located in Wisconsin.

5. Fitgerald is behaving irrationally.
He is angry and out of control, so he's doing something that isn't even legal. Either his side talks him down or it goes to court. He's making an idiot out of himself.

6. Exactly
The WI Republicans are acting like spoiled brats and petulant children. Even when they break the rules they get their own way they still feel like they need to dish out a form of corporal punishment as they were not followed 100% and kowtowed too. They are a disgrace to adults everywhere, much less politicians.
