Online coalition-backers gain steam
By DON PEAT, Sun Media

TORONTO — Canadians in favour of the coalition government are weighing in online as well.

A Facebook group called "Stephen Harper's Last Day as Prime Minister" was gaining steam today with almost 8,000 members by 3 p.m. ET.

The site calls for Canadians to take part in a "goodbye party" for the Conservative leader Monday, Dec. 8 — the date tentatively set for the opposition to topple the government.

The dress code listed on the site for the event? "Sweater vests for all."

1. thank you

Have sent an email from smartvote (having been too lazy to get around to it under my own steam), and made plans for attending a rally, and signed up for the party!

Ah, a good demo on a probably frigid December day. Why can't we have summer demos occasionally?

The Iraq war demos ... one on the sunniest bitterest coldest Saturday afternoon of the year. One on the darkest slushiest sleetiest nastiest Friday night of the year. (Missed a couple because of the dying dad.) I swear the demos of my youth were balmier events.
