No wonder Canwest's stock is at 52 cents
I send an email canceling my subscription, specifically noting that I am doing it because of their excessive bias in favour of the Harper Conservatives, and I get an response saying "we do value as our customer, if you could please provide us with a reason for your cancellation, we would like the opportunity to assist you further."

And they go around criticizing Dion's communication skills and management.

No wonder they are going bankrupt.

1. Hilarious. I know I'm boycotting Conservative TV. If I never have to see Duffy or Fife again, I'll
be happy.

2. I found it oddly satisfying
It was like The Wizard of Oz - finding out that there is nobody behind the media machine's curtain.

If it was mathematically possible, I would short Canwest's stock, but it is tough to do that with a penny stock.

3. Short selling...
...short selling a stock that's got nowhere else to go and will likely never recover! They'll be splitting that company up anytme; first the papers, then the stations. Call it bad Kharma for abandoning the liberals shortly after Izzy died.

4. Here's hoping a reasonably objective newspaper arises from the ashes
The market for rightwing news sources is saturated. They better try a new business model.

5. I was speaking to a girl at a party last night
Going to Journalism school and she said the publisher of the Sun came to talk to them and she actually said "We want people to like journalism so much they'll do it for free."

Fucking cow.

I ever tell you about the interview I had at the "Province"? When the two editors asked me what I would do if they put me in charge of the paper for day.... I responded, "I'd fire you two."

No sense of humour.

6. I thought the National Post made use of bloggers
Not that I read it, but that`s the impression I get from Kinsella`s website.

The trouble with that business model, is that readers have no reason to prefer a "newspaper" over a blog, so why pay for it?
