2. Fido, released last year.

Featuring Billy Connolly in a nonspeaking part (!) but was filmed in BC.

IMDB: "Timmy Robinson's best friend in the whole wide world is a six-foot tall rotting zombie named Fido. But when FIDO eats the next-door neighbor, Mom and Dad hit the roof, and Timmy has to go to the ends of the earth to keep Fido a part of the family. A boy-and-his-dog movie for grown ups, "FIDO" will rip your heart out."

Very funny movie, highly recommended.

4. Ginger Snaps - all three of them.

I rather like Quebec cinema, especially movies like Montreal-Quebec. I also liked Treed Murray, the first Cube movie, and like you I really like New Waterford Girl.

There was a really good movie on the Halifax explosion, too.

My favorite Canadian movie may very well be Elijah. Funny, historical, unforgettable. The Delicate Art of Parking is a close second, and I have to confess that I really enjoyed Chicks with Sticks, too.

Elijah Harper is one of my favourite Canadian heroes. I also agree that the Ginger Snaps movies are great.

Hell, pretty much anything directed by Guy Maddin. A very inventive, talented filmmaker.

but then I almost always prefer comedies.

I also really liked "It's All Gone, Pete Tong"
