New credit card rules fall short of regulating fees, rates
Finance Minister Jim Flaherty has introduced a package of new rules governing credit cards, but he stopped short of regulating interest rates and fees.

The new rules will, among other things, force card issuers to give a 21-day interest-free grace period on new purchases.

There will also be a number of new disclosure rules that will make the cost of cards more transparent to consumers.

Another new regulation will force card companies to allocate consumer' payments – when they don't pay off the entire bill – so they are to the advantage of the card-holder

And to top it off, we never got to carry lethal weapons in our state parks!

Utterly un American. Don't know what this government is coming to?
