Good article. Interesting too that other African countries have been REALLY slow to pick up the ball on Zimbabwe.. although South Africa has now chimed in. At last. It is abundantly clear that Mugabe will only take notice of his immediate neighbours and is deaf to non-African protests.

Clearly a "strongly worded letter" is not going to worry this madman for a nanosecond.

2. Apparently the leader of the free world won't lead when Blacks are being denied freedom.

It is an absolute abomination that the international community is standing by an letting this happen. These people are being hacked to death for voting for freedom and we can't seem to do better than say "shame on you!"

My biggest fear is that the rest of the world will abandon Africa to its own devices. Effectively reducing it to a charity organisation or worse.....

4. Sanctions must be measured

I am opposed to sanctions against Zimbabwe UNLESS the impact on the 5 million people
starving to death in that country is measured first.

There are aid agencies aplenty so there is no reason to spend time or money finding out the best way.

In the meanwhile send every family member or friend of Mugabe, Zanu-PF , the military, police or otherwise home. Restrict travel and make sure they can't visit the West. Seize their's and any offshore assets of the elite you can find and give the proceeds to aid agencies.

Make life hell for them not the defenceless.
