Voter Suppression: Stealing Votes in Ohio Urban Areas - Independent Media TV - Article - 2004-12-03
IMTV - Remember how people were voting until after Midnight in Ohio?
''The Free Press on Election Day posted a disturbing story, later confirmed by the Columbus Dispatch. The Free Press reported that Franklin County Board of Elections Director Matt Damschroder deliberately withheld voting machines from predominantly black Democratic wards in Columbus, and dispersed some of the machines to affluent suburbs in Franklin County.''
''All 36 of the wards at the bottom of the list of voters per voting machine were won by Kerry, and they include most of his strongholds.''

A Verifiable-Voting Insurgency - Roanoke Times, The - Article - 2004-12-02
''On Nov. 14, I came across a compelling paper by University of Pennsylvania Professor Steven Freeman, titled 'The Unexplained Exit Poll Discrepancy.' After comparing exit polls, which had Kerry in the lead, with the announced results for Bush in Ohio, Florida and Pennsylvania, Freedman, a statistician, calculated that the odds against such an accidental discrepancy in all three states together are 250 million to 1.''
''Exit polls generally match official voting counts and have been used around the world as a way to verify voter accuracy and guard against vote tampering. Even Dick Morris, a Republican consultant and Fox News regular, said in an article for The Hill, 'Exit polls are almost never wrong. ... cannot be wrong across the board as they were on election night. I suspect foul play.' ''

David Cobb: Greens Had Good Reason to Ask for This Recount - Star Tribune, Minneapolis - Article - 2004-12-02
''Something went seriously wrong in Ohio on Election Day.''
''Regardless of whether a recount changes the outcome of the election, we must protect the right to vote and the right for all votes to be counted. Either every vote is sacred, or democracy is a sham.''

December 02, 2004
Miami Herald hand recount of 3 Florida counties indicates signficant Kerry gain - Independent Media TV - Article - 2004-12-02
''What I see is a possible gain of 1243 votes for Kerry from three small counties in which only 23627 ballots were cast. That represents about 0.3% of the ballots cast for Bush and Kerry statewide. If Kerry gained votes at the same rate statewide, he picks up nearly 400,000 votes and wins Florida.''

Democracy in Action: U.S., Ukraine - Independent Media TV - Article - 2004-12-02
''Hundreds of accounts of irregularities and downright suspicious goings-on can be read on websites such as www.votewatch.us and blackboxvoting.org. Missing ballots, intimidation, discarded undervotes, switched polling places, and seemingly philo-Republican electronic voting machines incapable of offering a paper trail. These hardly sound like activities associated with a free and fair election.''

''Despite the evidence, the mainstream media has largely ignored the story or reported it as a theory put forth by Kerry supporters who can’t accept Bush’s victory. Peter Jennings had a paternal look of amusement on his face when he referred to 'those conspiracy theorists.' What responsible journalist would simply discount such mounting evidence as a conspiracy theory without thoroughly investigating first? Is demanding transparency and integrity in our elections asking for too much?''

'Countdown with Keith Olbermann' for Nov. 30 - MSNBC - Article - 2004-11-30
More on allegations of fraud in Ohio with Jesse Jackson on 'Countdown' with Keith Olbermann.

Nearly a month later, Ohio vote fight goes on - Associated Press - Article - 2004-11-30
''Nearly a month after John Kerry conceded Ohio to President Bush, complaints and challenges about the balloting are mounting as activists including the Rev. Jesse Jackson demand closer scrutiny to ensure the votes are being counted on the up-and-up.''

Reported Voting Errors Tallied Nationwide - Boston Globe, The - Article - 2004-12-01
''More than 4,000 votes vanished without a trace into a computer's overloaded memory in one North Carolina county, and about a hundred paper ballots were thrown out by mistake in another. In Texas, a county needed help from a laboratory in Canada to unlock the memory of a touch-screen machine and unearth five dozen votes.''

''In other places, machine undercounting or overcounting of votes was a problem. Several thousand votes were mistakenly double-counted in North Carolina, Ohio, Nebraska, and Washington state. Some votes in other areas were at first credited to the wrong candidates, with one Indiana county, by some quirk, misallocating several hundred votes for Democrats to Libertarians. In Florida, some machines temporarily indicated votes intended for challenger John F. Kerry were for President Bush, and vice versa.''

'Lowdown tricks' sap poll-watcher's faith in fair U.S. voting - Oregonian, The - Article - 2004-11-23
''But when Tina returned in 2000 to live in America, she was concerned about allegations of election tampering. A patriotic American, Tina had trouble believing widespread voter fraud could occur in this country. But after acting as a nonpartisan observer Nov. 2 this time around at a precinct in Florida, she says she's lost faith in the system. In nine hours Tina says she saw 'lowdown tricks' that have made her feel 'disgusted, angry -- and yes, energized.' That's why she wants her story told.''

Something's fishy in Ohio - Chicago Sun Times - Article - 2004-11-30
''In the Ukraine, citizens are in the streets protesting what they charge is a fixed election. U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell expresses this nation's concern about apparent voting irregularities. The media give the dispute around-the-clock coverage. But in the United States, massive and systemic voter irregularities go unreported and unnoticed.''

Errors in exit polls still a puzzle to many - Philadelphia Inquirer - Article - 2004-11-24
John Allen Paulos is a professor of mathematics at Temple University.

''Why did the exit polls on Election Day in the battleground states differ so starkly from the final tallies in those states? As my crosstown colleague, Steven Freeman of the University of Pennsylvania, has demonstrated in his paper, 'The Unexplained Exit Poll Discrepancy,' the pattern is unmistakable. In Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Florida, the differences between Bush's final tallies and his earlier exit poll percentages were, respectively, 6.7 percent, 6.5 percent, and 4.9 percent.''

Strong indications of major electronic glitches or fraud in Ohio - Independent Media TV - Article - 2004-12-01
''In analyzing the still-unofficial results, the totals reveal that C. Ellen Connally, an African-American Democratic candidate from Cleveland running for Ohio Chief Justice, received more than votes than Kerry in many counties. For example in Butler County, Connally received 5347 more votes than Kerry. The list of the counties where Connally actually outpolled Kerry include Auglaize, Brown, Butler, Clermont, Darke, Highland, Mercer, Miami, Putnam, Shelby, Van Wert, and Warren.''

Olbermann's Re-Countdown - New York Observer - Article - 2004-11-29
''Mr. Olbermann’s fixation on the vote-count story was stoked again on Monday evening, when the Ohio Democratic Party announced that it would join with the Green and Libertarian parties in pursuing a recount in the state of Ohio, offering the remote possibility of a reversal in the outcome of the 2004 Presidential election. At 7:12 p.m. that day, Mr. Olbermann e-mailed to say, 'I think it kinda just went mainstream.' ''

Fundamental flaws put our voting system at risk - Newsweek - Article - 2004-11-24

''Particularly in urban districts with too few voting stations, lines were up to 10 hours long. These excessive bottlenecks disenfranchised untold thousands who could not afford to wait that long and had to return to their jobs or children before reaching the voting booth.''

This Election is Not Over - Op Ed News - Article - 2004-11-20
IMTV - I wish the author had links and sources for his calculations, but he is sharing some interesting information.

''Let's pull it together. Right now, it's 286-252 in favor of Bush. Ohio has not even begun to count the provisional ballots. There are 155,000 or so. Ohio has a history of provisional ballots, based on state law. In 2000, 90% of the ballots counted, and of those I understand that 90% were for Gore. Applying that standard to the 155,000 would give Kerry 125,550 additional votes, and Bush 13,950. That would narrow the margin from 132,000 (the 136,000 figure includes the now-infamous Gahanna 4,000 vote error in Franklin County ) down to about 24,600. Originally, this was why Kerry conceded; he just couldn't get it done on the provisional ballots alone.''

AND MORE...

Judge Denies Demand for Ohio Recount - Associated Press - Article - 2004-11-23
IMTV - This is the same tactic the Republicans used in Florida 2000. Stall the recount, and then enforce the certification date.

''A federal judge on Tuesday denied a request by third-party presidential candidates who wanted to force a recount of Ohio ballots even before the official count was finished.''

''Judge James G. Carr in Toledo ruled that the candidates have a right under Ohio law to a recount, but said it can wait. The judge wrote that he saw no reason to interfere with the final stages of Ohio's electoral process. Officials have said the results will be certified by Dec. 6.''

Florida Blamed for Flawed Voter Database - Associated Press - Article - 2004-11-23
IMTV - The audit found that they were NOT trying to disenfranchise voters? BULLSHIT.

When they handed the list out to the counties, they TOLD the counties that they were NOT POSITIVE that EVERYONE on the list felon, and that they were to those on the list from the voter rolls, unless they could prove that they were not felons.

This was all done despite the fact that Jeb Bush was personally warnted that they were warned that it was NOT ACCURATE, and they 'should pull the plug' on the list.

This graph is in relation to these 29 Counties reported on by Keith Olbermann of MSNBC.

In Holmes County, in the panhandle, seven Democrats for every two Republicans in the district. Bush beat Kerry 6,410 to 1,810. 'Countdown with Keith Olbermann' for Nov. 8 - MSNBC - Article - 2004-11-08
IMTV - MUST READ! - Keith Olbermann reports on large voter irregularities in Ohio and Florida.
''Baker County, Florida, on the Georgia border for instance. 69 percent of voter registered Democrats. 24 percent Republicans. Yet President Bush got 7,738. And Senator Kerry, just 2,180. In Holmes County, in the panhandle, seven Democrats for every two Republicans in the district. Bush beat Kerry 6,410 to 1,810. In Dixie County, 77.5 percent registered Democrats, Bush 4,433, Kerry 1,959. Lafayette County, 83 percent Democratic, Bush, 2,460. Kerry, 845. In Liberty County, Bristol, Florida, 88 percent of registered voters there are Democrat. 8 percent Republican. Bush, 1,927. Kerry, 1,070.''
''Five examples in 29 counties with decided Democratic margins that suddenly voted overwhelmingly for Mr. Bush. In Florida counties where optical scanning of paper ballots was not used, no such violent swings were reported. Counties with heavy Democratic registration voted Democratic, counties with heavy Republican registration voted Republican. And then there‘s one wild card to add to the Florida mixture. While the state voted for Mr. Bush and 29 Democratic counties became Republican strongholds, one extremely liberal state ballot proposition passed overwhelmingly.''

Evoting Firm Gives Machines for Free to Swing State Nevada - Buzz Flash.Com - Article - 2004-11-08
''In August of 2004 Sequoia wanted to get its software into the Reno area (Washoe County Board of Commissioners). How much do you think it costs to license their software for voting purposes? $30,000 a year, plus an annual adjustment for increased costs and inflation EXCEPT THAT THE FIRST FOUR YEARS ARE FREE. That’s right, free. See page 743 (PDF). Sequoia wanted to get their software into swing states like Nevada so badly, they gave away the first $120,000 in licensing fees for four years to get the counties to sign on. Nevada’s population is 90% urban, consisting mainly of Clark County (Las Vegas) and Reno (Washoe County). Nevada also previously received around $15 million in federal grants(IMTV - I.e. Bush Administration?) to defray the anticipated $17 million cost of the voting machines themselves.''

A Tale of Two Brothers: EVoting in the USA - Other - Article - 2004-11-08
IMTV - An important possible inaccuracy in this article. I believe Republican Senator from Nebraska Chuck Hagel used to own 35% of ES & S, and he did not disclose this investment, he has since come forward with this information, and I believe he has long since sold his interest in the company.
''The vice-president of Diebold and the president of ES&S are brothers.''

Bush Vote Tallies Statistically Stunning, Border on Unbelievable - Consortium News - Article - 2004-11-09
''While it’s extraordinary for a candidate to get a vote total that exceeds his party’s registration in any voting jurisdiction – because of non-voters – Bush racked up more votes than registered Republicans in 47 out of 67 counties in Florida. In 15 of those counties, his vote total more than doubled the number of registered Republicans and in four counties, Bush more than tripled the number.''
''By comparison, in 2000, Bush’s Florida total represented about 85 percent of the total number of registered Republicans, about 2.9 million votes compared with 3.4 million registered Republicans.''

Did Bush fix the elections? - Pravda - Article - 2004-11-09
''In Florida, 13 counties reported more votes than voters, these accounting for 39.4% of the vote. In Ohio, at the Gahana 1 Precinct, Bush received 6,253 votes, Kerry 1,916 votes, and the others, 23. This totals 8,192 votes, which is strange, since only 4,346 people voted.''
''In Chaves County, New Mexico, which has an enormous Hispanic, African American and Native American population (who traditionally vote Democrat), Bush won by 68% to 31%. ?''

Secrecy Cloaked During Election Campaign - Inter Press Service News Agency - Article - 2004-11-09
'' 'It's always a fight to find out what the government doesn't want us to know. It's a fight we're once again losing ... (President Bush) has clamped a lid on public access ... It's not just historians and journalists he wants locked out; it's Congress ... and it's you, the public, and your representatives.' ''
''These are the words of Bill Moyers, one of the U.S.' most respected broadcast journalists. Moyers was press secretary to President Lyndon B Johnson when Johnson signed the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) in 1966. That law established the principle that the public should have broad access to government records.''

60 Minutes: Counting the E-Vote - CBS - Video - 2004-10-31
60 Minutes examines the problems with E-Voting.

While I admire that they reported on this, what is abhorrent is that this information was out there over a year ago, and it should have been a top story over a year ago. If the media had done it's job back then, the machines would have had a paper trail, and there would be confidence in the results.

House Dems Seek Election Inquiry - Wired.Com - Article - 2004-11-05
''Three congressmen sent a letter to the General Accountability Office on Friday requesting an investigation into irregularities with voting machines used in Tuesday's elections.''
''The congressmen, Democratic members of the House of Representatives from Florida, New York and Michigan, cited a number of incidents that came to light in the days after the election. One was a glitch in Ohio that caused a memory card reader made by Danaher Controls to give George W. Bush 3,893 more votes than he should have received. Another was a problem with memory cards in North Carolina that caused machines made by UniLect to lose 4,500 votes cast on e-voting machines. The votes were lost when the number of votes cast on the machines exceeded the capacity of the memory cards.''

Even if the results are undisputed, what is at issue is the integrity of the process.''

That's because, in important states like Ohio, Florida and New Mexico, voter names have been systematically removed from the rolls and absentee ballots have been overlooked—overwhelmingly in minority areas, like Rio Arriba County, New Mexico, where Hispanic voters have a 500 percent greater chance of their vote being 'spoiled.' 2. Did you see the list of complaints in Florida?
And people around here call me a conspiracy theorist. Just because over 5,000 "glitches" were documented doesn't mean there is anything wrong with our voting system. The exit polls have been wrong for years and we democrats just can't accept we didn't win. Accept B**sh as your savior and you too can help rig the election in 2008.

For those without a sense of humor, this is a tongue and cheek way of saying I can't believe people are NOT rioting in the streets over this stolen election.

Sigh, we Americans are truly conditioned to acquiesce to authority figures. Except for you guys right here, you DUers, who wont give up the fight no matter how they ignore and ridicule you. I admire you all. Don't give up the Ship!!!!
