Gee, Blackwell Makes Me Proud to Live in Ohio .... Crook!
Ken Blackwell has now been caught red handed trying to get illegal
contributions so he can run for Governor in Ohio.

Although I doubt the media will pick it up. He must think he is bullet proof.

1. Why isn't he charged with violation of civil rights
for all the folks he denied the right to vote?

11. Ohio's AG Is A Quack
Just like Blackwell, Ohio's AG is circling the wagons and taking cues from KKKarl. Sadly, the feds will have to become involved before this problem is addressed. The GAO has all the evidence they need but whether Ashcroft/Gonzales will allow them to do anything about it remains in serious jeopardy.

My hopes are pinned on Kerry the prosecutor. He could get the job done.

2. I agree he's a bastard, but this is just a printing issue.
What I find appalling is that Ohio allows a full credit on your Ohio income tax for a contribution (max $50) to an Ohio political candidate. We have a budget shortfall. Why are we taking tax dollars and, effectively, giving them to politicians?

6. I might be wrong but .....
Blackhole was seeking cooperate money.

Corporate donations are illegal in Ohio.

Although, laws do not seem to bother much.

8. The mailing solicited corporate and private contributions.
If you were going to break election law, would you do it blatantly, in a statewide mailing?

Of course he's not allowed to solicit corporate contributions. I'm willing to believe it was a printing error because it being intentional just makes no sense.

9. Either
A. He did not know it was against the law.
B. He did not care.

Printing error? I think not. He wrote the letter and or had it written for him and signed it so it was fault.

BTW the local Sinclair station had to cover this story. They did it quick but later on I
saw they gave "Brad & Jen" about 5 minutes.

10. Did you read the article?
"His campaign's fund-raising coordinator, Jeff Ledbetter, blamed a printer for the mistake, saying it used a template for an issue committee, which is allowed to accept corporate donations."

I know a little about printing (I published a zine years ago). Templates are frequently used. I find the explanation a lot more plausible than believing that Blackwell thought he could illegally solicite contributions in a statewide mailing and get away with it.

3. There are about a dozen reasons this guy...
...should be behind bars. Instead, he's giving speeches on "Ethics in Leadership."

4. He used to be a Dem too...
when he switched, I remember many in African American community were outraged. He was a dem of the McAuliffe variety, and this is more proof of why we should avoid that type of leadership for this party.
