being elected? It is getting very difficult to support these clowns if they won't stand up to obvious incompetence and deceitfulness.

Edited on Wed Jan-19-05 11:43 PM by demo dutch
http://www.sbsbroadcasting.com/
which is the Second largest European broadcasting footprint according to their website serve100 million population in 9 markets

Television
–Started operations in 1990 in Scandinavia
–Owns interests in 10 top tier TV stations in 7 countries

Radio
–Established in 1994
–Owns consolidated interests in 53 stations in 5 countries

Print
–Acquired Veronica magazine, the largest TV/Radio guide published in The station in The Netherlands is http://www.sbsbroadcasting.com/content.php?rubrik=U0JTNg==

Here's the kicker...it's Executive Chairman of the Board is Harry Evans Sloan, a US Citizen. He is also director of ZeniMax Media Inc.(computer games) and Lions Gate Entertainment Corp. which distributed Fahrenheit 911 SBS is also tied to Disney (Remember Disney pulled out on distributing Moore's movie apparently a bunch of nonsense ...money or political driven decision?) He is also tied in Time Warner and Advent Warner (loaned him capital), so you can figure it out from there

I don't appreciate a European company giving contributions to repugs. Anyhow isn't it illegal for foreign companies to donate to American political campaigns??!! Seem to remember Gore or Clinton got in trouble over that.

30. I don't understand this, can't they vote no every time if they wish?
Why is it an either /or position? If they voted no on Condi, they have to vote yes on a judicial nominee? Watching the repubs, they voted no on a lot of things when Clinton was pres, what has changed?

18. The key is what Biden said: I've got to work with her, and she is going
to be voted in...and if you vote against, it's a lot harder to work with them...they truly are between a rock and a hard place. Biden certainly made it clear he had serious reservations and it wasn't for lack of reservations that he was voting yes.

46. Ridiculous--she won't be working with Biden
The dems have been and will be totally ignored in the repuke dominated congress. After 9/ll, Biden was begging the repukes to "use all the talent here" to help them. It was nauseating. They did, however, borrow his patriot act work.

And, speaking to post #30, a long time ago I heard someone talking about how the Senators trade votes back and forth. For instance, if someone needed a "no" or "yes" to please their constituents, they were allowed and then they gave back a vote on something else. It worries me that Kerry was voting no to get some creds before he starts voting with the repukes on everything. When I say worry, of course I'm not really worried because I've lost all faith in Kerry. There's not much he could do anymore to upset me.

There should have been more nays, but I'm pleased that Kerry and Boxer didn't "go along to get along." My brain short cicruits when I hear Senators like Biden make such strong anti-administration statements, then turn around and vote yes. Multiple personality disorder? Or is it "inside the beltway neuroses?"

32. I don't get it
From watching the hearings I would say that at least, Lugar, Chaffee, Biden, Obama, Feingold, Nelson, Boxer, Kerry and Dodd all did not seem to want Condi in the position. They gave compeling arguments why they should not vote for her. I don't understand how any Senator benefits by voting yes.

Can someone please explain. I know the above post says they have to work with her, but they didn't cooperate one bit last term and they will be worst this term, what makes any of those Senators think she will play nice?

another question. Her answers, let me rephrase that, her remarks were given under oath can they be used in a court of law as evidence at a later date?

does that explain?

34. yes and no
yes because I understand your viewpoint and line of reasoning and

no because if you are going to vote no what is the point in raking Condi over the coals, just to let her know you know?

I mean she knows everyone in the Congress knows.

The MSM are covering this at all, except to say she was "grilled" big deal.

It seems to me that if all the Dems voted no and the Republicans that obviously didn't want voted no also then it might encourage others in the Senate to stand up to the Bush Administration. They can only bulldoze the Congress if the Congress lets them.

Do you see possible motives other than the obvious?

Can these comments be used in a larger context to bring down the House of Bush and does it keep them on an even keel if they feel there are only a few dissenters?

Didn't hesitate to tell her what they thought. And she got all snooty with Boxer, who then told her "Look, you contradicted the 'president', you contradicted yourself!!"

Every time I hear one of *'s cabinet members talk, I am reminded again of how incapable he is of speaking for himself effectively, and how he always has to have one of his grunts out there to do it for him...

I would LOVE to have a smart president.
