So my wife just informed TODAY her provisional ballot didn't count-5/18/05
Dated today, A letter from the Board of Elections, County of Middlesex, New Jersey indicates "At present, our records indicate that you are not a registered voter in Middlesex County."

Funny thing is, we have a letter "indicating" that "in the past" their records indicate she was a registered voter in Middlesex County. I wonder...I wonder...I wonder what happened between the past and the present so that "our records indicate that you are not a registered voter in Middlesex County.

Hopefully we can dig up the confirmation we recieved (both of us seperately) of our registration.

Any other female New Jersey voters recently found out they too have been purged?

1. This is why "provisional" ballots are bs
I had the same problem, went to court in Jersey City and got a court order allowing me to vote. Took the court order to my precinct and voted on the machine, so they had to count my vote (if they counted anyones, that is).

Believe it or not they had 2 court rooms in Hudson County just for election issues.

2. One judge in NM was caught red handed
throwing out every provisional ballot for Kerry and accepting every provisional ballot for Fuckwit. I think he's still on the bench, and I don't know if any discipline was handed out.

Personally, I think that strikes at the heart of our system of a representational republic, and tampering like that is treason.

10. Do you have a source for that?
I live in Albuquerque.
And I believe you but would like to pass this info to friends.

3. She tried to take it that far and all they would allow for was a
provisional ballot and given a number to confirm if it was counted. She called that number and we just now recieve a letter.

7. Was this at the precinct?
The precinct has no say about court, there had to be a court ruling saying she had to file provisional.

Keep in mind that the local Dem HQ's keep a staff of lawyers on call election day. The woman at the polling place didn't want to accept a machine vote, I had a lawyer at the polling place in 10 minutes. It is a good fact to know.

Unfortunately, most of the polling place workers are ignorant of the law, not blaming them, they get little training.

:grr:

That is so messed up. I hope you find your previous documents. THIS CANNOT STAND!!!!

And how many, how many folks who aren't as conscientious as you and Mrs. izzybeans don't know that their vote didn't count? Bad bad bad.

8. I do hear that. She's not happy. She opened it while I was on
the phone with her. So I'm eager to talk to her in person about this.

I would hope that anyone whose ballots did not count recieved a letter. She thinks she may have recieved one becuase she demanded confirmation. But its unclear at this point.

If I don't follow up its because she's had enough. We are moving away and so we both must reregister anyway.

5. Something similar
My husband and I both just received new voter cards out of the blue because there had been a "change in our information." We've lived here for 10 years and there have been zero changes in our information... you can bet that I'm going to be all over that office to find out exactly WHAT changes were made, and by WHOM. Even our polling place is the same, as are the district lines, etc. When I say there has been no change, I mean NO CHANGE.

This is utter crap... hope you stay on top of it, izzybeans, let us know the outcome! They're up to no good, I'm tellin' ya!!!

6. That depends on if my wife follows up or not. We are moving soon.
I would guess she'd wash her hands of it.

9. Strange...
...provisional ballots in Republican precincts manage to be counted while the ones in Democratic precincts don't.

How does that happen? *scratching head*

11. My regrets to your wife.
After a few tears, such a thing would have turned me into a monster with ten-thousand teeth.
