Revote in Ohio After More Votes Than Voters Recorded on Diebold Touch-Screen Voting Machines!

Diebold Inc., one of America's largest voting machine companies, likes to claim that there's never been any substantial problem with their touch-screen machines in any election in America.

You may not be surprised to hear that claim is patently untrue.

As reported in yesterday's Middletown Journal, a special "re-vote" will be held tomorrow in Montgomery county, OH on an issue where last November's election results were set aside due to more votes being cast on Diebold's AccuVote TSX touch-screen voting machines than there were actually registered voters who voted!

5. reading too fast - the story is really more votes cast than folks voting.
"More votes were cast than there were registered voters in the city’s Montgomery County precinct."

Seems they had not turned off the "Bush adjustment" for this election.

A no paper trail Ohio may nor be winable even if we have 99% of the vote ...:-(

11. How is it the exact opposite? I looked it up and it's valid.
This vote was a local vote. It wasn't the Nov of 05 referendum that's being referred to, but Bradblog isn't referring to that election when he says a re-vote. The re-vote is of a local issue where the number of votes counted on the new Diebold machines exceeded the number of voters there.

But I think Bradblog says that these are the same machines that were used for the obviously fraudulent results of the Nov 05 referenda (4 of the 5 initiatives).

What are you referring to when you say the article says the OPPOSITE?

14. Not bogus at all... But are you?
Man, how much is Diebold paying to run around and say this is bogus? Also, that black is white and up is down. As I replied elsewhere to your "this is bogus" claims...

Here's what I quoted specifically in my report. This is from the Middletown Journal yesterday:

http://www.middletownjournal.com/news/content/news/stor...

CARLISLE — Voters will have another opportunity Tuesday in a special election to decide whether the city should have a combined fire and emergency medical services department with 24-hour staffing or continue as a volunteer fire department.

This is the second time in three months this levy has been before voters. Last November, the levy was narrowly defeated.

But those election results were set aside due to voting irregularities from the new electronic touch screen voting machines.

More votes were cast than there were registered voters in the city’s Montgomery County precinct. The city contested the results, and the Montgomery County Common Pleas Court ordered Tuesday’s special election at Montgomery County’s cost.

Sorry. Facts suck.

Federal authorities seized ballots cast in a 2004 Republican primary on Wednesday, a move that could put to rest a long-running dispute over who won the race.

3. OMG! I used to work for a computer vendor there and we had
the equipment that counted the votes (punched cards). I was on election duty there several times on Election Nights to make sure the equipment worked properly and that if there was any problem, that it got fixed ASAP!

Montgomery County, Ohio is where Dayton, Ohio is located.

17. Here's a working link
http://www.middletownjournal.com/local/content/news/stories/2006/02/05/MJ020506CARLISLE.html

I was skeptical also and posted so elsewhere but this story is legit. I went to the Montgomery County elections website hours ago and they had no mention of this special election so that led to my skepticism. I'm still betting against Diebold hysteria every time and will come out far ahead doing so.

18. Nice of you to have checked.
Not sure why you'd have doubted the published info.

All the guy said is that there was to be a revote because some touchscreens screwed up.

What possible hysterical notion would have Brad post such a thing were it not true?

Your knee-jerk was stunning.

As for you saying, "I'm still betting against Diebold hysteria every time and will come out far ahead doing so", please pardon my questioning such an ridiculous approach to a serious issue.

Why bet when you can educate yourself and avoid inaccurate postings and beating on people doing something constructive for democracy?

Wow, first the Republican caucus has more votes than House members in the first round of the Boner election. Now this. AZ republican primary election fraud.

Theh Republicans are using this on each other...they're eating their own.
