"Uncle Soros investing in Diebold?"
Maybe.. Could be.. ...Or let's put it this way, he will if he wants to! http://eliteleague.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/lol!.gif

Snippet of an article in today's OpinionEditorials-

..."George Soros, the legendary billionaire currency trader and money manager who annually gives away hundreds of millions of dollars through the Soros Foundation and Open Society Institute is probably the worlds most powerful and effective advocate of open societies internationally.

It is not known whether the Soros Funds have invested in Diebold or shorted their stock, whose shares are up 10% in recent months despite a class action lawsuit.

~~~
You just never know.. With Diebold possibly interested in shedding its voting section, and Soros discussing his feelings about the topic.. anything can happen!
C'mon George --- just DO IT!
4. Soros could buy controlling interrest in Dibold, that sure could
present an interesting situation! I wonder what the Pubs would say then????
Having a Dem owning the "proprietary programs" sure could move voter validation to the forefront, huh?
5. If he buys any interest
he could have the basis of a lawsuit against officers of the company who perpetuated some future election fraud
9. Sometimes the best way to take down a company is to BUY!
A controlling interest of it. I doubt that Soros would approve of rigged voting machines. If he has been buying Diebold, he has other plans. This is really good news.
Diebold MAY consider spinning-off their elections division. Soros is into Open Society. Diebold's source code needs to be opened. Soros could afford it. There we have it. Hmmm?
Where the hell is this author coming from? Doesn't Michael Moore have enough money? How about a consortium of Springsteen, Streisand and Whoopi?
The author also states, "it is not known whether the Soros Funds have invested in Diebold or shorted their stock". Diebold is a public company, so I'm not so sure it would be hard for the author to find out. But then, he might lose half the rational for this fantasy piece.
The guy is stretching. And we're dreaming right along.
12. Don't be such a DOWNER Wilms!!
The way I look at it ---- any publicity whatsoever that puts the fear into righties that their beloved "rigged machines" may be at even the sliiiiiiightest bit of risk..
..Is enough to start getting the friggin' wingnuts worried.
If it's not only one party that's concerned about faulty voting machines and the wackjobs on the right start complaining, maybe we'll finally start getting some decent media coverage. Hell.. "decent media coverage?" .. make that MEDIA COVERAGE---- PERIOD.
Maybe Soros will jump in... Maybe he won't. YOU don't know. But I like stories like this getting out there.
I say KUDOS to that author and I hope like hell he cranks out more stories like this one!!
Your post (to me) did nothing but calmed and eased any concerns and fears that freepnoids peering in may have had.
Sorry. But let THEM fret for a change!!!
BTW- If Springsteen, Goldberg and Moore jump in.. so the hell what!? It's better than Blackwell, O'Dell and Swidarski.
I call your response the best thing freepers have read on this part of DU all day. And that's sad, because your entire is response is.. so unlike you.
13. Unlike me? Hardly. Hell, I've been accused of BEING a freeper!
:cry: Let alone providing aid and comfort. ;(
Remember, I love the fact that McPherson chose to send Diebold to the ITA's, recently. :evilgrin:
Look. The article is stretching quite a bit. Yes? or No? :shrug:
If it gets much media coverage it'll say some thing like :tinfoilhat: :puffpiece:
If Soros bought Diebold and opened the software all kinds of bugs might well be revealed and there would be a big push to get the EAC/States to decertify them. :9 (We'll leave out Soro's at least in the short term destroyed investment, for the moment. :freak: )
Then ES&S and Sequoia might provide their equipment which may be just as vulnerable.:argh:
In fact, we know of two elections with ES&S OpScan where hand recounts saved the day showing the Dems the real winner. :toast:
Too bad it wasn't Diebold. Then everyone would pay attention and know about it. :spank:
So the only positive possibilities I see here are: :think:
1. Diebold gets decertified nationally as a result of Soro's yanking the curtain. :nuke:
But the other companies can't build enough units to make up for the shortfall so we just Hand Count paper ballots. :hug:
2. Someone reads the article and becomes aware of the dangers of electronic election systems :patriot:, without catching on that the author is daydreaming. :boring:
:yoiks:
15. No, No, No Wilms...
I never claimed you were a Freeper, I just said that your post was a source of comfort and relief to them!
You know I love you Wilmster..
And now I'm sending out a message to the creepy freepies here (which of course DOES NOT INCLUDE YOU WILMS) --that you should be scared freepnicks... VERY, VERY SCARED.
Because I found out something you freaknoids don't know today.
Be afraid ---- BE VERRRRRRRRRRRRRY AFRAID.
16. Very interesting. I've long wondered where he was at on the election
issue and how much he knows and why he is silent. Wish he'd take out one of those full page ads like he did before the election in the NY Times about it.
